Pretty broad sweep there, taxslave. You really want to get rid of the likes of Mary Ellen Turpel Lafond or pare down her salary?
Yes , and shut down her whole ministry , and all the rest of the poverty pimps .

No one. That is the whole point in cutting the size of government. There is already a minister getting high pay and perks for the same job.
Yeah, but the ministers don't normally do the "hands on" stuff. There has to be someone who puts their "big girl boots" on and stomps through the ghettos and that might be Mary Ellen Turpel Lafond.

Then fire the minister. There is no need to have two people responsible for the same thing.

I tend to agree but that won't gain any traction. I do think that planning and preparation is important and before you can delegate for the "grunts" you need someone to analyze and interpret the big picture and that should be the minister. He won't have much time for that if he's busy kicking down doors in the ghettos. :)

It is not so much the boots on the ground, rather the number of people in charge. Since there already is a minister in charge of protecting kids we don't need to pay a children's advocate with no real power a huge salary to do the same thing.

OTTAWA — WE Charity co-founders Craig and Marc Kielburger are declining requests to testify before two House of Commons committees.

In a statement, the charity notes that New Democrat MP Charlie Angus has requested that the RCMP and the Canada Revenue Agency investigate WE’s operations.

The charity says it would welcome and would co-operate with such investigations but it shouldn’t be subject to an investigation by a partisan parliamentary committee at the same time.

Two Commons committees had invited the Kielburger brothers to testify.

Angus requested the RCMP and CRA investigations last week after a former donor, Reed Cowan, alleged that the plaque on a school he had funded in Kenya had been replaced with a plaque in the name of another donor — which WE said was an unfortunate mistake but which Angus said was proof of a “pattern of duplicitous relations with donors.”

Cowan made the allegations during testimony to the Commons ethics committee, which is continuing to scrutinize a now-cancelled federal contract to have WE manage a student services grant program despite the charity’s close ties to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and his family.

She probably performs one of the most important jobs in the B.C. Gov't. if not THE most important job, ensuring our children are safe!
Does she ? Or does she get the big bucks for standing on a soap box ? I say the soapbox as she has no ministerial authority .
