Oddly, the Masked Lawman never fought werewolves. Kinda weird, he was uniquely well-equipped.I can't believe that I missed the reference to the Lone Ranger... My bad I guess
FWIW-Port Hardy is a grim little sh¡thole and this surprises no one who's ever been there.
Yet, you're the one wondering about his kids and mental health and using both as a reason for vilifying the cops
After a dozen scenarios of the cops abusing people, yes I do wonder about various scenarios. How soon some people forget! I certainly haven't vilified any cops regarding this latest incident.
Well, if you're that suspicious of the cops in BC,
Well, if you're that suspicious of the cops in BC, it makes sense that the police be accompanied by a dozen interpreters in case there are language issues and a psychologist or 2 in case the poor wee gun toting perp wasn't hugged enough as a child.... And to save some time, we can have a 3rd party professional observation group and camera crew ride along to make extra certain that you can be confident
Not that I would share with you/your ilk.Is there any where, any place, any thing you like? You seem to disparage everything.: Originally Posted by bill barilko said:FWIW-Port Hardy is a grim little sh¡thole and this surprises no one who's ever been there.

The Good News in this story is that the deceased no longer has to live in that blasted pit of despair, ennui & abuse @ the end of the Island highway.

my ilk? Whoot! I have ilk. Must be coming up in the world then.
so basically you're just misery in a skin suit then eh?
How many instances do we need? The Vancouver airport, Geoff Mantler in Kelowna kicking a crippled man in the head, a senior being tasered in a traffic check in Kelowna for merely pulling his car off to the side of the road, Ian Bush being shot in the back of the head by a cop while in custody, 6 cops in Vancouver beating the sh*t out of some druggies (two were fired), a senior in Kamloops hospital tasered while bedridden. Those were just a few that made the news, there could be two or three more for every one of them.
Many times all that is necessary is for them to back of temporarily until the necessary resources can be gathered, in none of the cases I listed above was anyone in imminent danger. The cops are supposedly professional educated people, the people they are dealing with often aren't particularly educated or sophisticated and quite often have a multitude of other issues.
You old fools are so easy to troll it's hardly worth the typing. He definitely gives the impression he's not an overly happy camper! Must be tough to live like that!
You have unfairly painted all cops with your statements. There is not one industry that doesn't have examples of problems, inexperience and even corruption. For some reason, you feel the need to single out the police and go one step further by making up endless excuses for some low-lifes.
Fact is this; buddy would be alive and well today if he hadn't been waving a knife around and threatening people, he brought this all on himself and no amount of deflecting the blame onto the cops or wondering if he was hugged enough as a child will change the reality that he made his own decisions.
So much for assuming even a shred of personal responsibility in life, eh?... It's far easier to blame the cops

unfortunately cops don't wear identifying markers depicting who is good and who is bad
and you may be quite a way into an encounter before you find out.
Yep, buddy might have been alive and well had he not flashed a knife
but I don't think an episode of bad judgment should cost a man his life.
When I was a young buck and drunk 3 or 4 days a week, I'm just lucky some impetuous cop or anyone for that matter didn't misinterpret half the sh*t we did back in the day or a lot of us would be dead. Maybe you spent every evening singing in the choir but we weren't all like that.
Who was blaming the cops? If you reread the O.P. I think you will find I was only inquiring as to if and how it would be until the results of an official investigation will be divulged.
They don't?

You are every time you direct the responsibility away from the guy with the knife.
Never said he wasn't responsible, just questioning whether he should have been killed. Don't jump to conclusions!![]()
