I never reported mine.... people tend to blame the victim, plain and simple. When my girlfriend went to court at 14 to put her rapist away, she was raked over the coals for wearing pyjamas in front of him. She still has a hard time wearing anything that doesn't cover her from neck to ankle. She was a child, and informed by the court that showing up to breakfast in a nightie was somehow partly responsible for the actions of their renter. He was put away only because it happened when she was 13.

and I would have to add, that since it appears not only Bear but a few others agree with the cops statement, then we should also be letting the pedo's off easier because I have heard that those kids have been seducing them.

Absurd, you're fu cking right it is. Just like it's absurd to blame, partially or otherwise, how a woman is dressed for rape. It's absurd to blame the woman period! end of discussion! Like I tell my boys, I don't care if she's laying naked and sopread eagle on a bed, if she says no, it's fu cking no, and if I find out you have taken no as anything besides what those 2 letters mean I will personally cut your balls off.

That is understandable, Karrie- several years ago in Prince George a JUDGE was convicted of procuring underaged Native girls (who had previously been in his court) for sex and sentenced to several years in jail where he later died.

Yep, strange but there is a "part of No" that some don't seem to grasp.

There is no justification possible when it comes to a skinner but when it comes to the 80% in the 18-30 range we gotta ask WTF is going on with some seriousness if Canada is sitting at #5.

Where are these men getting delusions of permission?

From statements like that judge made, from statements like this cop made. Rapists will find excuses in the tiniest bit of eye contact. They will find excuses in a kind word. There is a reason that it is a constant issue in the human experience, and it's not because of current fashion trends.

An omelet without mushrooms is just wrong.

The best omelette I ever had was made by my mother. No mushrooms, but small slices of red and green pepper and a few slices of smoked farmers' sausage.

Having said that, the words by the aforementioned cop were not out of line, were not stupid and he should not have had to apologize. Only an overly politically correct person would ever suggest that revealing clothes are not greater temptation to rapists than modest and normal attire.

And let us not forget that sometimes a radical message has a far better impact than a tepid one.

And let me add that I would NEVER blame a woman who got raped.

My Mrs used to work for Corrections Canada. I've heard the inside thoughts of some of Canada's most frightening people while she wrote out transcripts from recorded sessions. One was the brother of someone that would hangout with our group. He will never be released back into society. He is beyond insane. Convicted man declared dangerous offender - CBC News

But I can't deny that today's fashion and the potrayal of women in today's youth media is absolutely ****ed up ****. It's garbage that is ****ing with the heads of far too many people both male and female.

You just put part of the blame on women for what they wear.

and you're a fu cking moron. I don't find this subject humorous in the least.

Neither do I.

I was just joking about your choice of words. I'm sorry you and Karrie got so offended by whatever it was that you interpreted was so offensive.

If you bothered to read them, my earlier posts clearly indicate my stance is in agreement with your own derpy derp derp.

Some irony for you - Raped Policeman: "I never thought I would be a victim."

Well it is funny because it's so absurd. Blame the victim. The weather man tells you it's going to rain today. So you drive down to the tv station and punch him because it's your only day off this week and you wanted to go golfing. He should know better than to forecast rain on your day off. Plus he should know what you're like when it comes to your golf games.

We hear this all the time from people who rear end another driver, abusive husbands and wives. Bullies, teachers and plenty of poor people. Everyone's fault but mine.

The way a woman walks, the way she dresses, both have an affect on her risk of sexual attack. This is not meant to blame the victim but these are proven facts.
