In every election since that idiot got in, voting from this area has become more and more complicated. This year, according to a first call to Elections Canada, there is no local polling station and they don't even have me assigned to the right riding - again. Why bother allowing CRA to collect voter information if someone in authority isn't going to bother checking? No wonder voter turn-out is falling. Here's an idea: Farm out Elections Canada to China. They've got more on the ball than most Canadian bureaucracies

We used to live in the country. Once Elections Canada had us vote in the water plant 15 miles away. We still voted in spite of Harper trying to keep us at home.

Update: It took two calls but my voting registry is correct again and I'll get to vote unchallenged. The question remains: How many will bother - what with incorrect mailing addresses, ridings and polling information?

This is obviously a fake thread from a delusional leftard activist.

It is damn easy to vote in this country. Hell, you can vote by mail while on vacation in another country.

And you are obviously snorting the body filler, Jerk. Come over and read the paper. The question still remains: How many would bother?

Actually, I used to support the Con - until corporate pricks took over and started neglecting people

and this has nothing to do with the party's in or out of power and everything to do with incompetence at elections Canada.

Elections Canada does not make the rules. It is the government that passes the laws that Election Canada follows. It is pitiful that mistake that EC makes. For the most part the people that do the election are people that work only 1 day, with 3 hours of instruction, which makes very poorly trained polling officers.Elections Canada has determined that different polling stations will give you different answers as to whether your eligibility to vote should be question. There were 54% "serious errors" in paperwork filled out during 2011 federal election for voters who needed to electors who need to prove their eligibility.
I lived in an extremely small town. When they didn't put the polling booth in our town, we had to go to the next town, which was 15 miles away. I have voted in every election. Unfortunately my candidate hasn't won everytime. I do get the right to bitch though.

You have the right to bitch whether you vote or not.

No, dumba$$..... you don't vote, you don't have the right to bitch, period.

Are you saying that you don't vote wally? It wouldn't surprise me. Those that whine and bitch the most are usually those that don't participate. I would lay odds you are one of those whiny bitches that doesn't vote.

There's no reason not to at least show up at the voting booths (or mail in your vote or whatever). You don't have to put a check beside a candidate. If you leave the card empty it is still counted and still makes a comment on the affair.

ELections Canada DOES actually have some control over its policies and activities. We'd need a ridiculously huge gov't if a law had to be made everytime something needed to be changed, Frankie.

If we all weren't governed by governments heavily influenced by corporations, I would agree. But as we are basically governed by corporations, voting is almost futile and just being Canadian gives people the right to complain.
