When they mixed up the batter that became the United States, all of the nuts collected in the bottom left corner. Subdividing the nuts just leaves you with three neat piles of nuts.

You might end up with one state that won't be separated from the mainland when the Big One strikes?

You're reading the data wrong. When the fault lets go, California, Oregon, Washington, and BC will be fine.

The rest of North America's gonna slide into the Atlantic.

Which one would get all the debt?

Since I live on an island I never worried about it. Islands are just slow moving ships anyway.Never know might wake up with a different view out the living room window. Hawaii is that you?

Pro #1 Thousands of people that are currently only qualified to be welfare recipients would become well paid bureaucraps.

There is peer reviewed papers supporting that position, however they are thought to be spurious nonscense even though we can see the former east coast waterside properties under mutiple meters of sea water today, more and more seawater will be stored up in ice in the progressing minimum. Beach property investments will reach the stratisphere, and then it will freeze.

I,m only interesting in looting California.

Machine parts mostly. Very good concentration of machine p[arts, too bad about the ocean problem, bearings flanges all kinds of cheap hardware

water damaged machine parts, a bit of oil and there just like new

Would that not impose more costs on the taxpayer?

Civil war has hardware potentia,l bullets for bearings, oh this is going to be fun

They are of course those of course convinced of sea level rise and waterfront property will be cheap

You will realize a twenty percent increase in your waterfront in a decade

never mind the bergs you can stilll get a Vitamine D tan. However tthe cosmic ray influx , it has moulded mankind since day one and there,s naught you can do, that,s not true you can adjust your voltage with food, and hide in caves, very fine caves though, all this has been done before and it always ends with us still here so far

we tune with food, GMOs however are alien tunes, and you will end in a weird dance, science or nature guess who wins eveytime.?

Similar things to this happened in Canada in 1999, when Nunavut was divided into Northwest Territories and Nunavut, and England in 1974, when new counties were formed out of some others - for example Greater Manchester being formed out of parts of Cumberland, Lancashire and Cheshire - and some counties merging to form new ones, such as Cumberland and Westmorland merging to form Cumbria.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight were one county - Hampshire - until 1890, when the island broke away and became a new county, and it remains a county today.

Hmmm. "Haxit"? "Whixit"?

Bizarrely, it's still Hampshire Police that are responsible for policing the island, even though it is now a county in its own right.

The island is also famous for being the site of the world's first radio station.

I'm glad they included the word "smaller" in there with "split" and "states" in the OP title.
:)

This is closer to happening than many people understand.

California is a massive entity - it has a larger GDP than Canada - and there is some validity to the belief that it has become unmanageable.
