The U.S. moved large numbers of special-operations aircraft, troops and equipment into the Caribbean area this week, giving Washington “additional options” for “possible military action” in Venezuela, according to U.S. officials and open source flight-tracking data.

President Trump has ramped up pressure on Venezuelan strongman Nicolás Maduro in recent days, ordering a blockade of oil tankers going in and out of the country. Trump has declared that the airspace around Venezuela should be considered closed and has refused to rule out airstrikes on the country, etc…

“We have a massive armada formed, the biggest we’ve ever had, and by far the biggest we’ve ever had in South America,” he said Monday. Referring to the possibility of land strikes in Venezuela, he said: “Soon we will be starting the same program on land.”

“They are prepositioning forces to take action,” said David Deptula, a retired Air Force lieutenant general and dean of the Mitchell Institute for Aerospace Studies, an aerospace think tank. The movement of such assets indicates that the administration already has decided on a course of action. “The question that remains is to accomplish what?” he said.

A spokesperson for U.S. Southern Command, which is responsible for the U.S. military in Latin America, declined to answer questions about specific troop movements. “It is standard practice to routinely rotate equipment and personnel to any military installation,” said the spokesperson. “And as a standard practice, due to operational security concerns, we do not disclose details or comment on U.S. assets or personnel operational movements and activities, nor disclose details of specific operations or routes.”

Feliz Navidad!

It’s more of a multi-faceted war on everybody by proxy (except not by proxy for Venezuela, I guess).
China. This is all about China.
…which also gives Trump leverage over Canada (heavy oil) going into the whole CUSMA/NAFTA/USMCA/LMNOP negotiations soon…so he can literally fuck over everybody at the same time, including the American citizens.
(YouTube & 'War on Everyone' Official Trailer (2016))

Off the coast of Venezuela, sanctioned oil tankers have become the target of U.S. authorities. Washington has already seized two – along with millions of barrels of oil – and says its going after more.

“Maybe we’ll sell it, maybe we’ll keep it, maybe we’ll use it in the strategic reserves,” U.S. President Donald Trump said on Monday.

On Tuesday, Venezuelans hit the streets in protest of the U.S. president – whom they call “Pirate Trump” – who Monday had a warning for Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.

“He can do whatever he wants, it’s alright, whatever he wants to do, if he wants to do something,” Trump said. “If he plays tough, it’ll be the last time he’s ever able to play tough.”

So Trump will retaliate against another nations retaliation again? That sounds so familiar for some reason…🤔

Meanwhile, the tension in South America “could” (?) have implications for Canada too.
The US president also promised to keep the two ships and the nearly 4 million barrels of Venezuelan oil the coastguard has seized so far.

Is this all just facets of the same story?

Miller also shared a screenshot of a Truth Social post from Trump on Tuesday, in which he accused Venezuela of “stealing” US oil, land and other assets, and using that oil to fund crime, terrorism and human trafficking.
China with Taiwan or the Philippines or Tibet, and Russia with Ukraine repeatedly, and others, ect…how are they claiming to be outraged at Trump for attempting the same things?
1766760238247.jpeg
In the post, Trump declared Venezuela’s government a “foreign (foreign to what nation?) terrorist organisation” and ordered a total blockade (well, not total) of all sanctioned oil tankers (or in the latest seizure, a non-sanctioned oil tanker) going in or out of the country.
I honestly thought Trump (not necessarily America) was going to attack Venezuela Christmas Day. I was wrong.
1766759639238.jpeg
Trump added that migrants sent by Venezuela are being deported quickly and demanded that all “stolen assets” be returned to the US immediately. Caracas said the actions will be reported to the United Nations Security Council (which America has veto power on) and other multilateral organizations and governments?

Well Venezuela, maybe is predominantly a Christian country (?), yesterday wasn’t your day.

I think you had it right in the above post…

But maybe you needed a “-“ or “/“ in there for clarification. Kudos.

Proxy war with the Chinamen who are eradicating US hegemony in the Americas one trade and defense deal at a time.

If only Venezuela would have sold oil in USD this wouldn't have become an issue.

So America, for American, gets to decide what’s best for everyone in the Western hemisphere as long as it aligns with what’s best for America? Does this also encompass the “adoption” of Greenland and Panama and wherever that 51st state is suppose to be?

After the above, whom else in the western hemisphere needs a dose of freedom after being declared terrorists or non-American loyalists by the pirates of the Caribbean?

If only Venezuela didn’t have oil, let along heavy oil, or other things that America needs or wants, and have been sanctioned by America, and be in the western hemisphere, and have a socialist government, have been located as Columbia-adjacent and south of Mexico, probably none of this wouldn’t currently be happening.

So, does Venezuela, in its own territorial waters, have to seize 3 (or 6, or 9?) Chevron crude oil tankers to trade 1 for 1 for the oil tankers America has seized, with 1/2 a dozen held in reserve for future American seizures?

What’s the answer with respect of Venezuela’s own sovereignty?
Ruh-Roh…Trump has set the precedence, and round and round and round she goes, where it stops it’s probably not where anybody thinks it would have…

“Venezuela has some of the largest oil reserves in the world,” said Richard Masson, a former Canadian oil industry executive. “They’re primarily heavy oil and bitumen, which are very much like what Canada’s reserves are here in the oil sands.”
1766839747209.jpeg
Experts say political instability in Venezuela had long given Canadian oil producers the advantage, but if Trump can topple the Maduro government, it could mean increased competition.
1766840078942.jpeg
“This makes it all the more important for us to think about sending out oil to the pacific, to a northwest pacific pipeline, knowing that the Asian market is growing,” said Heather Exner-Pirot, a senior fellow and director of natural resources, energy and environment at the Macdonald-Laurier Institute. Somehow completely forgotten in the above graph, intentionally or not, is Canada:
1766839937563.jpeg
Exner-Pirot suggests Trump’s interest in Venezuelan oil could eventually force a fight for access to the U.S. market. Masson says it may take long for the impact of those tensions to take effect.

“The question becomes: If Venezuela became a democracy, with the rule of law, with a stable investment climate, how long would it take to build the projects to displace western Canadian oil?” Masson said. “I think that would take a long time.”

(But so is pipeline approval, construction, and Canadian bureaucracy and various other bullshit to gain access to tidewater for Canada’s two landlocked provinces)

To keep dominance dominant things have to happen. China isn't going to do what America and NGOs do for the Americas. What China is offering looks sweet on the surface. China doesn't have Churches that build schools, hospitals, housing and food which are matched by the US Govt.

As for oil, Venezuela only produces a million BPD. It'll take 30 years for them build up capacity to match Canada's 5.3 million BPD.

KeystoneXL cancelled by Biden would have shipped more per day than Venezuela produces for. Do you think environment groups are going to let Venezuela trash the second largest watershed on Earth?

That depends entirely upon who finances these environmental groups and what their agenda(s) happen to be. US foundations, including the Hewlett Foundation and Rockefeller Brothers Fund, have been identified as major funders (over $40 million) for campaigns against Canadian oil sands and pipelines for example.

Are there benefits in the Carbon Market for Venezuela to keep their oil in the ground and focus on mining, manufacturing, agribiz and tourism when liberated from Socialism?

The smart thing to do if they do pump and mine the oil is to skip building 10 necessary upgraders and go straight to blue hydrogen.

It took us 50 years to get our heavy oil and oil sands functioning properly.

What if PetroCanada decides to withhold our bitumen technology?

While the major operating companies in the Fort McMurray oil sands (like
CNRL, Cenovus, and Suncor) are technically Canadian-headquartered, they are heavily owned by American investors—with studies showing they are approximately 60% American-owned.

However, in terms of direct operational control, assets, and investment, the key American players and US-controlled firms are:
  • ExxonMobil: Holds a 69.6% majority stake in Imperial Oil, one of the "Big Four" producers in the oil sands. Imperial Oil is a major operator in the Kearl oil sands project and owns a 25% stake in Syncrude.
  • ConocoPhillips: Operates the Surmont in-situ project, having acquired the remaining 50% interest to achieve full ownership in 2023. They are a significant player with production around 69,000 barrels per day.
  • BP (British Petroleum): While a UK-based company, its "BP Canada Energy Group ULC" subsidiary is active in the region, including a 50% stake in the Sunrise SAGD project.
  • Chevron: Holds a 20% stake in the Athabasca Oil Sands (Albian Sands) project.

Yep, & Texas has refining ability for this type of oil (initially from California and later from Venezuela, and then later from Canada in its aging refineries), and with the biggest proven reserves on the planet currently in Venezuela…maybe Trump thinks it’s worth the time investment to set up his buddies and their offspring with land leases in Venezuela?
The smart thing to do if they do pump and mine the oil is to skip building 10 necessary upgraders and go straight to blue hydrogen.
Well, here we are. If America bombs Iran’s oil fields, then Annex’s Venezuela, Canada, Greenland, a few other pieces of real estate, including Panama and it’s canal, well, maybe it sets itself up for the next century or two, & maybe this is a question for a different thread?

Yes. Grassland National Park as example. We (Saskatchewan and Canada created the park to to get a secured IMF loan using the massive gas field beneath it. Last I checked Feds AB and BC defaulted on 17 and now the parks are UN World Heritage parks

And they all pay patent usage rights except Suncor (Formerly PetroCanada).
PetroCanada at the time the tech was developed it was a Crown Corp. The Feds still hold the parents.

Texas can't refine our heavy oil without passing through a Canadian upgrader first which too is Canadian tech (Fed, SK and CCRL) born out of Regina.

According to Zionists we can't let Hamas and Hezbollah invade Venezuela and take the oil.

If anything to avoid US taking Greenland they'll join Nunavut. Same people, same language. Nunavut is a fledgling sovereign nation that temporarily joined Canada. For a brief time between signatures it was an independent nation they can go for solo at anytime it chooses. Greenland is on track to go as an independent nation as well but with Nunavut it would be uuuuge.
