VATICAN CITY – The Vatican said on Friday it had arrested a member of women's rights group Femen who on Christmas Day bared her breasts and grabbed a statue of the baby Jesus from a nativity scene in front of thousands of people in St. Peter's Square.
Femen's website says the woman was protesting as part of its anti-clerical "Massacre of the Innocents" campaign contesting religions' "maniacal desire to control women's fertility".
Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi said Ukrainian citizen Iana Aleksandrovna Azhdanova was being detained before questioning by a Vatican judge.
He said she was accused of vilification of religion, obscene acts in public, and theft. He said her action "offended the religious feelings of many people".
A Vatican policeman stopped Azhdanova, who had "God is woman" written on her chest, and covered her with his cape. She staged her protest shortly after Pope Francis had finished reading his Christmas greeting to the crowd.
Femen activists have staged protests at the Vatican before, the latest last month, and have been let go. But Lombardi said the Vatican had decided to be firm this time and arrest Azhdanova because her action was "particularly grave".
Lombardi said the group had "intentionally, repeatedly and gravely violated the right of the faithful to see their legitimate religious convictions respected".

few in this young generation will ever pay off their mortgages and will never live debt free

maybe the generation behind them will see the value of a no debt life...they now start with 400,0000 homes what's a few grand more for Christmas when you are already buried up to your neck

success mean a shiny BMW or two in the three car garage don't ya know

Indeed............

A woman was arrested Tuesday after she began to tear down a display by the Satanic Temple in the lobby of the Florida Capitol.

The Tallahassee Democrat reported that 54-year-old Susan Hemeryck told two Florida Department of Law Enforcement Capitol Police officers that she "was sorry and had to take down the Satanic display", adding that it was "not right."

The paper reported that when Hemeryck tried to remove the display, an officer stopped her and told her to put it back, saying that she was violating the law. Hemeryck responded that she "could not take it anymore" and began trying to tear down the display before she was arrested.

It's just wrong, when you remove baby Jesus two days before Christmas and put Satan in his place — that just can't happen. I couldn't allow it to happen," Hemeryck, who said she was wearing a shirt that said "Catholic Warrior" when she arrived at the Capitol, told the AP "I was there at the right time and the right moment and I needed to take a stand against Satan."

Debt free! Are you one of them crazies what avoids debt? Debt is good it runs the west where christmas trees grow and the roads to the fountains of milk and honey are paved with good quality paper gold.

Why do women think taking off their clothes in public before priests or men is an effective way to protest! And yet they are most profitably protesting in strip clubs with full legal protection. What were the men thinking when they passed legislation to ban women from publicly protesting and paying them to do the same privately?

I look long and hard, there is nothing that allows any Clergy to conduct body searches using their lips, so why the sudden lineup?

I am so stealing that picture
I'll keep it in memory, now you have to build something underground to hold it in and you have to sneak down to look at it as the Vatican would probably ban it if they could.

If you haven't noticed. Women who are covered in a tent are less likely to protest. The prophet may have been an illiterate but he was not stupid.
