Tonight proves just how dysfunctional the Republicans are this time. Romney should be
way out in front if they are going to have any chance at all in November. People are not
going to support radical fundamentalist social conservatism Santorum and Newt are not
likely to gain victory. Ron Paul is little more than a joke without a hope of winning the
fall election.
Romney is the so called moderate and he lacks the get up and excitement people are
looking for and the reason is he does not sound sincere and that alone will finish him off.
Nope Republicans are in a heap of trouble going into the main campaign.

Whereas Hillary fought on till June against Obama? How did that turn out for Obama?

You're reaching and becoming less credible each post concerning the GOP Primaries. You're biased and it shows clearly. Sometimes I want a GOP candidate to win this one just to see folks like you go ballistic in November. The most important elections are Congress. It would be nice to win the Presidency... but....

Remember this?

I think you're missing the point here. I wasn't picking on Bush. I was trying to point out that when a President of one party is in office and the Congress is controlled by the other party he pretty much becomes a Lame Duck President.

Just like Bush did in 2006... Just like Clinton in 1994.

I voted for Bush.. :tongue5:

There was some things I liked, other things I didn't like about the guy..

I mean as it stands Romney will most likely be going up against Obama.

Obama vs Romney - I will vote for Romeny (for business experience and what he did as Governor)

Obama vs Santorum - I will vote for Obama (safest choice out of the two)

..

Santorum Wins Alabama Primary, According to Exit Polls

Rick Santorum won the Alabama primary on Tuesday but remained locked in a tight race with Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich in Mississippi, according to preliminary exit polls.

The Republican race moves forward to Missouri on Saturday and Illinois next week as Mr. Santorum and Mr. Romney remain locked in a bitter fight for the right to lead their party’s bid to take back the White House from President Obama.

Mr. Santorum’s victory in Alabama was driven by support among voters who said they were “very conservative” and from evangelical Christians, who made up nearly 8 in 10 voters, according to exit poll returns.

Rick Santorum Wins Republican Primary in Louisiana, A.P. Projects

Rick Santorum won the Republican primary for the presidential nomination in Louisiana on Saturday, The Associated Press projected.

The projected result would probably earn Mr. Santorum little if any momentum for the next month of contests. Nor can it answer the increasing doubts that Mr. Santorum will be able to expand his appeal beyond his core support of social conservatives, after his decisive loss to Mitt Romney in Illinois on Tuesday.

Mitt is part of an era of gun boat diplomacy. America is known for that. Then again the
British were masters at it, not to mention the French, the Dutch, the Germans, the Japanese
the Chinese, and the Portuguese and Spanish.
In ancient history the Greeks and Romans were also engaged in naval diplomacy.
Canada, no we buy subs that don't work and the only working sub we do have is on the Prairie
as a Shopping Mall decoration.
I do agree that Romney is not the brightest light on the porch in fact he is not a bright light but
to make him worse than any of the rest is not correct. The current Republican field for President
is well embarrassing. Collectively they have made a mess of things that will see them destroy
each other and bring about some serious leadership hopefuls in the the next election.

When Santorum opined that a vote for Romney would be the same as a vote for Obama he lost the tiny little vestige of credibility he desperately has been trying to hang on to.

Any incumbent Senator who loses an election for the Senate with a record number of votes against him has no chance to be President.
