Yes. You seem happy to jump on the band wagon

Using that logic, politicians should never question anything a bureaucrat says. Never question a doctor and spend whatever they say on healthcare. Never question a teacher. Just spend what they tell you to on whatever they tell you to. Think of the children.

Oh dear...we had better never question them again.

Well now you've run off the reservation for sure!

You don't second guess folks who have more knowledge than you in a particular expertise, especially in the matter of providing your security, unless of course you're stupid to begin with.

You were present at the meeting where Harper received the RCMP's report and recommendations and are privy to any questions he might have asked were you? You know for a fact that he did not question them at length on the suggestions of shipping over those cars as being prudent and for what reasons?

You know all this; why don't you phone up Mulchy-hair and give him a briefing so he'll shut up about stuff he knows nothing about and get back to other stuff he knows nothing about.

Can you provide us with your threat assessment for Harper in India.

Of course you do. That's why we have police commissions instead of just letting the police run themselves. We don't just get rid of school boards and let the teachers run the schools.

Why does asking questions scare you so much?

The threat assessment is irrelevant. At issue is whether or not it's cheaper to buy an armoured vehicle in India or fly them back and forth. At least if we bought them there, we could leave them for our diplomats.

Are you seriously suggesting that the country of India can't provide world leaders with armoured vehicles...really?

I certainly am. The PM stated clearly today that the decision to provide him with his own armored vehicles was an RCMP decision alone and he had no influence over what-so-ever. It was the right decision and I am very glad they made it.

Question?? Would it not be possible to rent a couple of armored cars in India? There must be a criminal ..I mean politician or 2 that have one.

I don't think I'd advise it. After what happened to Indira, there's no telling what could happen to a foreigner!

I've never said it was the PM's decision. In fact, I've stated that it really doesn't matter who made the decision. Tax payers money needs to be spent wisely and people that spend it need to be accountable to the taxpayers for those decisions. Why do you feel bureaucrats ought not be accountable to taxpayers?

There are lots of armoured vehicles in India, of all shapes and sizes.

Armored Cars | Bulletproof Cars | Security Vehicles | Bulletproof Vehicles | Armoured Vehicles | BMW Armored Cars | Armoring India Mumbai

I'm thinking if the price between shipping and buying was even close, buying would be preferable so that the vehicle could be left in India for Canadian diplomats to use.

Well if you put it that way why even have experts. Or send the PM to India. They could just use skype. Almost free.

Again stuck on one very redundant point- As you mentioned earlier- You go to the experts-
If you were having your colon checked would you go to a plumber.

At issue isn't the experts. I'd almost bet the "experts" are allowed to ship the vehicles vs buying new because it's easier to get travel expenses over capital purchases past the bean counters. I know that I can spend 1000's on maintenance of a piece of equipment but I can't spend 500 on buying a new piece of equipment. People need to know what, how and why our money is being spent

And you extrapolate personal experience to security and costs - thin very very thin reasoning- so thin you can see thru it - well not you as that would undermine your point- Again what are the security threats in India.

Again, what is the difference in costs between shipping vehicles over and buying them there?

And you extrapolate personal experience to security and costs

Do you actually think bean counters think differently depending on whether they are in defense, policing, education or banking....really? I mean really?

You obviously enjoy these leaps of conclusions you make like a wounded gazelle.

Firstly; equating police commissions and school boards to whoever you've engaged to assume responsibility for the security of a sitting national leader must have caused even yourself a bit of reticence. We're not talking the numbers of textbooks assigned to each class here or the number of cruisers parked at any given time in a Horton's lot. That comparison was just laughable.

AGAIN; you know for a fact questions were not asked and answered by the authoritatively credentialed party? They included you in the briefings copying? The fear of asking questions you attribute to myself, while knowing nothing whatsoever about me personally, I can assure, you pales in comparison to my fear of appearing absolutely retarded by asking irrelevant cost based questions when discussing the topic of a leader's security.

Aaah yes; you're making all these arguments predicated on the cost of portability of already inventoried vehicles by suggesting the alternative we should buy more of them and leave them there, along with attendant maintenance costs, for occasional usage by lesser ministers or diplomats that are thick on the ground over there.

You see; that's the perfect example of that particular fear I mentioned in response to your suggestion of my being afraid to ask questions.

LOL...you're very funny. It is you that is leaping to conclusions. I want to ask questions and have answers before I conclude anything. Unlike you, asking questions doesn't scare me.

I didn't realize you were a Dipper. I understand that money is of no consequence to you but, being a fiscal conservative, I do care how my tax dollars are spent.

If it's cheaper and there has been an established threat (and according to the RCMP there has), why wouldn't you....oh ya...right...you're a Dipper and just like to spend money.

Dipper! A name calling against forum rules! My goodness Cannuck what can you possibly be thinking? Oh wait, thinking, that requires a higher brain function than you are presently showing any signs of possessing.

All of my posts would lead one to the conclusion that I am indeed a conservative and in support of the Prime Minister's decision to accede to his security detail's suggestions, but not you, oh no, you go off on another of your silly conclusion leaps.

Yep; I'll affirm I'm averse to asking POINTLESS and IRRELEVANT questions as it's a time waster and unlike yourself I highly value my remaining time. I also abhor the waste of time required by any political party having to answer idiotic questions fomented for no other reason than to get camera time.

Why didn't you simply ask me my political affiliation since you're such a brave question asker. I mean wouldn't that have prevented you wasting your time coming to an erroneous conclusion after another of your inane leaps.

In keeping with my lack of desire to waste time I'm done with this cannucklehead exercise.

And these vehicles knowing how lax Indian security is would have to be taken apart to ensure some nasty surprises were not planted. Have you considered that?

Nope. A conservative would would be concerned with fiscal responsibility. Quite clearly you are not.

Don't have to. It's clear to see. You aren't fooling anybody.

Buh-bye.

I'm not really sure why you have to turn this into party mud-slinging politics.
I'm sure you ignored it, because it was done by your beloved NDP, but it would be the NDP that turned this into party mud slinging.

I'm sure you see Nash' question as just a question, but like so many of yours, it wasn't just a question. It was an insinuation with a question mark at the end of it, and like oh so many of your question (And the bulk of your statemants) it was made silly for it.

Perhaps if you and your fellow NDP hacks just asked questions, and left the attacks out of them, you wouldn't look so silly.

Unless of course that is what you're going for, as you have already stated you are.
