Might want to ask yourself why more blacks are being shot first.

I can see the new NRA advert now:

'If more blacks had guns, they could better defend themselves against racist cops. This is why we must defend everyone's right to own a gun.'

So how is it that, adjusted per capita, while crime and attenpted suicide rates are comparable between the US and other developed countries, US deaths by crime far surpass other countries and successful suicides are also much greater in the US, along with more gun accidents?

What could explain that discrepancy?

Ignorant people?

Given that crime and attempted suicide rates are comparable, but only that the death rate resulting from them is much higher in the US, I'd attribute it to efficiency. A pistol is a far more effective way to subdue your opponent or kill yourself than the primitive means used in other countries.

So efficient, those Americans.

You Are 58 Times More Likely to be Killed by a Police Officer than a Terrorist

New data, as reported by the Guardian, suggests that an average of 545 people killed by police went unaccounted for yearly on average in the FBI data.
The revised estimates put the annual number of people killed by cops at an average of 928 per year over the past eight years; a conservative estimate. This information contrasts with the 461 reported killed by police by the FBI for 2013, a difference of almost 450 killings or nearly 50 percent.
When looking at terrorism, the U.S. Department of State reports that only 16 non-military U.S. citizens were killed worldwide as a result of terrorism in 2013, the most recent year data there was available data.
What this means is that a U.S. citizen is actually 58 times more likely to be killed by a police officer than by a terrorist.

Roughly speaking, Cliffy................"You" including the entire population among which are the ones who are threatening to the cops. If you don't do anything to attract the cops attention and are not wanted for anything and are not committing any crimes, then I think the figure Is much lower. Perhaps it's a mistaken feeling but I generally feel safer among cops than among terrorists.

How many terrorists do you know? Stats show that you only have to be black to be shot for no reason.

Two police officers in my family. A cousin, who is no longer with us and a nephew. The stereotype being created is total bullshyt as usual.

There are good cops and bad cops. What irks people is that the bad cops get away with murder and the good cops do nothing about it. If the law does not apply to bad cops then the inevitable will occur.

The expression I am more familiar with is "One bad apple spoils the barrel."

Apples in a barrel will spoil because they are in intimate contact with each other - thus the rot is able to spread. One is often able to save many of the apples by removing any that show signs of softness or discoloration. All it takes is a little vigilance - something that some law enforcement agencies needs must start practicing.

I've read a bit about the Dallas Police Department and their Chief lately, Cliffy. They have made significant improvements in training and accountability since Chief Brown took over. Yet however accountable and efficient his force may be, they are but one jurisdiction among thousands and thousands and they have absolutely no right nor ability to interfere in the running of other forces.
