Trump's approval rating hits lowest ever on the heels of Alabama disaster
Just 32 per cent say they approve of the job Trump is doing as president, with 56 per cent saying they disapprove, according to a new Monmouth University poll taken between Sunday and Tuesday.
That is the lowest approval percentage Trump has seen since taking office in January, with prior polls showing between 39 and 43 per cent of respondents approving of him.
'This result is not good for the president, especially coming off the loss of his endorsed candidate in the Alabama Senate race,' said Patrick Murray, director of the Monmouth University Polling Institute.
'Donald Trump has not been making many moves designed to build confidence with the American public,' said Murray.
Congress' approval rating was also the lowest so far this year, clocking in at a meager 16 per cent.
