Hitler proves me right.

Nope. Germany was one nation. It was an animoly. The overwhelming majority of democracies during the depression did not turn to authoritarian governments. You're simply wrong. Accept it. You'll look less foolish.

Young people have been doing very bad for a while now.

Oh yes. What a single income family could afford 30 years ago. A dual income family has a hard time providing today. ;)

No we're doing much better than before.

Everyone's parents are sitting on a goldmine so they sell for profit and that leads to expanding development which is good for the economy. :)

For sure! Just all levels of taxes have gone up three or four fold and then there's all the rest of the bureaucrapic sh*t to contend with like permits and licenses.

You have to be joking............... mine for one are dead! And our kid's parents certainly aren't. Get your head out of where the sun don't shine.

Nonsense. Americans and Canadians didn't elect authoritarian governments during the depression and people were far worse off. You have no idea what you're talking about.

You're just making excuses to hide your cowardice
Maybe Canada didn't but the U.S. did. I know, you approve of everything FDR did, but the simple fact is he extended the power of the Federal government more than any other president in history.

He also banned Jewish refugees because they "might be Nazi spies." And imprisoned American citizens of Japanese descent without charges or trial. So the Used-Car-Salesman-in-Chief has pretty good precedents.

Wartime policies do not equal authoritarian governments. Canada built camps for their Japanese citizens but to call the government "authoritarian" is quite the stretch. Besides, Angstrom is talking about poverty leading to authoritarian governments. The 30's prove him wrong.
