A simple minded argument. There are multiple laws in place to ensure road safety which are meant to keep everyone safe while driving, like driving the speed limit, wearing a seatbelt, car seats for youngsters, passing restrictions, log book rules etc. As well there are things people can do to lessen the risk of developing cancer through diet and exercise. Want to lessen your chance of catching a flu bug? Get a seasonal flu shot, wash your hands regularly and if possible stay away from others who have the flu.

So your defense is weak at best. We all take measures every day for our own safety and for the safety of others. Why should covid be treated any differently?
