Bolded # 1 Sure he is following through on his "promises". He is playing to his base. (people like yourself ) and at what cost?? There is no WISDOM (let alone critical thinking ) involved here.

Bolded # 2 Why can't these dreamers apply for citizenship?? Why did they need this special protection in the first place?? Is there not a SMARTER solution to the issue ??

To bolded # 1 I'm Canadian I have no bearing on his base but you have to respect a man that is following through on his promises, despite his lack of speech refinement (speaks more like a construction worker than a politician) and engaging his mouth before engaging his brain (like a lot of common folk). If there was more of that in Canada there would be a cult like following (see Brad Wall, Ralph Kline) and to a lesser extent Harper.

To Bolded # 2 There is a way to citizenship the parents need to legally enter the country period, then they could follow their dream uninterrupted. Enter the country illegally and cry for their rights pffft what rights?

No surprise at all. What is perplexing is that voters actually voted for these kind of "promises". It speaks volumes about the voters themselves. They seem to want to "purity" the US......removing all "illegals" (Mexicans and Muslims need not apply or bother entering the US now)

Like Trudeau is doing to the Haitians.

Like Trudeau is doing to the Haitians.

She doesn't get it. It's unlikely that Justin can do any wrong in her eyes because she voted Liberal. The daggers come out when beliefs contrary to her own are voiced, or worse, acted upon.

Politics us an ebb and flow. Sometimes you'll be happy. Other times not. Endless whining does no good and makes you look like a fool.

This problem was occurring in the U.S. for a lot longer then Trump . Congress and the Senate cannot or will not pass any laws with regards to illegal immigration . That is where the problem lies and has just been punted back to them . Let the senators and congress people do their job and present the president with a bill which is why they were elected in the first place .
Valid point.

So, is the final decision still to be made IF and WHEN the protection status is made legal......as Trump's tweet indicated?? IF his last Tweet is the last statement on the matter, then they have six months to legalize it or he will revisit it. That is quite different from terminating it AND a lot more positive.IMHO

*********

This is not about TRudeau........this is about the US and Trump. I think there is a place to discuss Canadian issues. on this forum.

She will pass right over that.
you are right. She/he will pass over anything that cab be classified as poster bashing . The forum is not about the participants. It is about the topics presented . Glad you brought it up, Eagle.

Assuming the investigation is on course and making new discoveries....... where do folks think it will lead?? From what one cansee......they are doing a sporting good job and not bending to Trumps thetas , inconsistencies. etc. A very good thing.

We're not bashing you...we're just stating a simple fact.

It must kill you to know that Trudeau is more mean spirited than Trump. Sending Government Officials to the U.S. to tell Haitians they're not welcome... tsk tsk.

The sins of the father shall be visited upon the son, so it only makes sense to punish them kids who were brought to the country unknowingly.

Oh dear, don't call her motives into question. It's all about her beliefs. No one else has a right to their opinion. If it runs counter to hers, it's wrong!

It's alright for her to bash Trump and his supporters though. That's another disconnect to her grasp of reality.

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

Would not concern yourself about Trudeau too much. ou have enough issues in the US to deal with now. The refugee situation is being discussed under a specific thread.

Furthermore , so what?? Why should lit even bother you ?? You and your country has no problem telling others what to do ,how to do it and then threaten them if they don't comply.

The ONE thing ( there might be more ) that I agree with in the Trump ideology. He is not all that interested in ;nation building, or even interfering in other nations. His isolationist approach does have that positive effect.

********

and yes. it is a FACT that some are prone to poster bash. That seems to be their preferred posting style. Many of us are interested in the rapidly changing events of Trump world. Reality is that his ideas, tweets and words have a ripple effect world wide.

for the record: I am very interested in what the average american thinks. ;-)

She can't understand why others don't want to help immigrants. Because she has everything she needs. Heck, if I had all that i required and sill able to put money away at the end of the month, I could very well want to help immigrants too. But i don't have enough, so i don't want to pay taxes to help others. I don't think thats to fuking hard to understand.

I don't think you are interested in what Americans think. Any time their beliefs run counter to yours, you start on them. They voted him into office. That means your opinion is at odds with what many Americans want.

Nassir and you have one track minds. Like Nassir, what you think is the only right way.

It is not debate. It is your ranting.

Time to give me another thumbs down.

Well my situation basically explains why a whole lot of people voted for Trump. Be cause they a fed up with paying taxes for helping others while depriving themselves to make ends meet.

And people will continue voting for candidates like trump until they are happy and satisfied with their life. And then people will be generous again, because they will have everything they need.

Well, that is YOUR opinion and you are entitled to it.

Now back to Trumps most current decision.

Just heard that he and the Democrats reached some kind of agreement re: debt ceiling. . Will see about verifying this info.

with this administration there is hardly a dull moment.;-)

If people were well off they would be generous. Trump is a sign that people just aren't doing very good financially anymore. You want to save your America? Make sure Americans are doing well and they will be generous. Its very simple.

I see that as a global thing. Money and resources are tight in many countries, yet they are given out by the US and Canada - and other nations as well.

Despite the drop in church membership, perhaps the Christian ethic to help one's neighbour is still strong?

As we evolve, it has been suggested that some religious beliefs have value and have migrated into the consciousnes of those who do not attend church.

When you have 10 billion dollars in the bank, it's pretty easy to be generous. You don't need to be religious. It's simple dynamics of being well off and having everything you need. Its a luxury you can afford.

But the sane person who hasn't all his basic needs would not as easily be generous.

You have bigger issues that concern Canada. Besides... the Canadian Refugee Crisis is happening in Trump 200 Days+... VERY relevant.

Furthermore , so what?? Why should lit even bother you ?? You and your country has no problem telling others what to do ,how to do it and then threaten them if they don't comply.

From the country that bombed Libya to smithereens to now turning your back on refugees... tsk tsk. Trudeau and the Liberals were all for welcoming refugees until they started coming. That southern border of yours just got REAL porous.

*snicker*

Well, that is YOUR opinion and you are entitled to it.

Now back to Trumps most current decision.

So you can keep Canadians in the dark about Trudeau and the Liberals. Canadians are seeing right through that.

The Whole World is Watching!

For the first time since the “Abscam” scandal 36 years ago, a sitting U.S. senator will go on trial for bribery on Wednesday in a federal courthouse. Bob Menendez, a Democrat from New Jersey, is accused of intervening with federal officials on behalf of a wealthy benefactor in exchange for lavish gifts, including luxury vacations and major political contributions.
