You've got to hand it to Trump for using Storm of the Decade as a cover to sign in the Executive Order banning 'Transgenders' from serving in the military.. which is just common sense. But the Storm, and, Friday's limited news coverage blunted CNNs ability to spin into an apopleptic outrage with its stable Trump excruciators. They tried.. but they couldn't scare up the vintage CNN hysterics on the issue.
The other news is that Sebastian Gorka resigned (or was fired) as Deputy Assistant and Stragegic Advisor. I always thought he was a poser. His exit is no big loss, unlike that of Steve Bannon. But he represents one of the last of those with a world view of Michael Flynn, Steve Bannon, now Gorka at the WH of a foreign policy based on limited U.S. interventionism in the world (replaced with regional security alliances), a focus on national economic issues, and deep diligence with respect to the destructive potential of Islamic insurgency.. which they deem a constitutional characteristic of Islam rather than an aberration or heresy.
But the removal of Gorka, as with Bannon, has the fingerprints of John Kelly all over it. John Kelly is imposing a conventional bureacracy on the White House staff operations. All the 'characters' are disappearing, replaced with faceless functionaries. Things will become well regulated, controlled, predictable.. and somewhat dull under his supervision.
Trump can still get unfettered and unfiltered advice from Steve Bannon, unshackled by Kelly's oversight, simply by going to Breitbart or giving him a call. Whether he accesses or takes it remains to be seen.
