Trudeau makes another brilliant statement.

I tend to agree that it is the message that matters.

That being that honor killing is barbaric and if you participate in it you are completely unacceptable to Canada...please place your immigration application in the apropriate 'round' file. Have a nice day!

Read Trudeau's comments. Have to say that anyone who think so called "honour killings" is not barbaric has a severe case of utter stupidity.

There are still places in the world today where the term barbarian doesn't just mean what you want it to mean, hence the desirability of better term. As I said earlier, I don't think Trudeau handled this well but he isn't wrong in saying that a different choice of word(s) may have been better.

Yes, I see now where that definition you provided uses the term non-Christian.
Thanks for pointing that out. No apologies necessary.

Nothing more than rightard deflection of the glaring co ckups that have been following the Neocons as they circle the bowl. It's election time and unless Harper takes a huge ass raping from the NDP it's on. When the books are opened and the spending spree is revealed for what it is, reckless and pork barreling, I am sure we'll hear another round of how it's the Liberals fault and paying our debt this government racked up is unfair to the tax payer. I can see the faces around this table that should keep their traps shut lest they find the plate of crow a larger portion than they can stomach.

And if you had bothered to read what I wrote, I referred to what Cannuck quoted in the text, not the link.

The Liberals don't think it's barbaric, they think it's just not acceptable in Canada. I agree with you they are utterly stupid, and they want to run our country ???

For a second I wondered what Durry will do or did at 4 o'clock in the afternoon, then I realized that you meant: Durry for Prime Minister.

I hope you will utilize the time you saved by abbreviation, profitably.

I assumed that 'Durry 4 PM' meant something like: 'I agree with, and want to emphasize, what Durry posted at 4pm', but I couldn't be bothered to go back and figure out the reference.

Glad you cleared up the meaning, it was somewhat cryptic.

NTIMOC.

(Not that it matters, of course)

Yes cutting off a young girls clitoris or killing a girl for not wearing her head dress is not barbaric How could the conservatives have been so provocative and use such language against immigrants. Oh wait, Justin came to his senses?

What a joke, anyone who defended the Would be Liberal King must feel so foolish. What is that? You don't remember?

Sometimes opposing for the sake of opposing can get pretty tricky, even if your still riding Daddy's political wave.

Brown people must be called Barbarians as far as Harper and the Conservatives are concerned. It's just not the way to build a multicultural society. Not that this is at all the intent of the neocons.

Barbaric and unacceptable and a criminal act is how it should be described along
with a list of the consequences for such an act. As for being all upset about someones
reaction, it is just that a reaction to a comment and I hardly think it is worthy of making
any news headlines. If it were part of the debate in the House of Commons I agree it
would be headlines stuff, perhaps. We all know it is barbaric but more important what
will those in government do about it that is where the story is. I would be interested as a
citizen to hear the reaction from those communities who engage in the practice that would
be a news story in and of itself. As no one is proposing a solution talking about mere
statements of opinion is not news.

Give me a break Unf. Half the reason we have people importing this kind of crap into our Country is because we spend far too much time tripping all over ourselves afraid to offend. A few weeks ago you exercised the good sense to point out that political correctness had run amok and caused the censorship of Money for Nothing.

This kind of stupidity breeds division. Cutting up a girl, honour killing, and treating women as cattle is barbaric. Even Justin now admits that he painted himself into a corner. In my opinion if people want to live in a culture like that they should bloody well stay put because we don't treat people like that here as a rule. That is not a left or right issue. Its a Canada issue. If you dont like a gays, if you want to mutilate girls, don't come.
