Who backed and funded Hamas from the start? Botswana?
Damb warmongering Botswanians!! You’re referring to (I’m ass/u/me’ing) to the section here under “History”?
How does Ukraine manage to bomb Russian targets without swaths of civilians being killed?
Are the Russian military embedded in and under their own civilian population to utilize them as human shields for propaganda purposes?
Better weapons? Nope. Better intelligence? Nope. Avoiding war crimes? Yup.
Like…Russia not using their own population as human shields as per the 1998 Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court, the use of human shields during an international armed conflict is classified as a war crime (Article 8(2)(b)(xxiii))? That sorta thing?
It's a war crime when Russia deliberately bombs a hospital but a valid target for Israel?
Are the Ukrainians hiding military bases or other military infrastructure under hospitals as per your example? If not, then this is a straw man debate technique.

Paywalled.

Who is Mr Fox

What was the average age of soldiers at D Day?
22
What was the average age of soldiers on D Day and how does that Justify using children in this current conflict? Or other rounds of this conflict for the last 70+ years since D Day?

HAMAS had 20,000 to 30,000 fighters before October 2023. Israeli press estimates that 16,000 to 18,000 fighters remain.
So where are those recruits coming from? Or is it that Hamas is better protected somehow from a retaliatory strike-back from Israel that the average Gazian civilian somehow?

You’d think that would’ve been a consideration about October 6th 2023 (& I’m sure it was), but here we are. Anyway, your figures have no context or source. Does this come from the Gaza Health Ministry?
12,000 out 53,528 is a far fucking cry from 72%. More like 22%
Based upon what information from what source or sources, & where are they getting their information?
Why do you keep believing the propaganda?
Which propaganda from which side, as they’re both in it up to their eyebrows?
So not like Israel on the brink of civil war? Cool.
I keep hearing that, from you, & I’ve no reason to doubt that. We can debate that one once/if it happens also I’m sure.
How is the crime of starvation coming along?
How is it coming along? Didn’t see Trump in the portable McDonald’s restaurant roll into Gaza yet, as that would’ve been a game changing precedent.

History? 2023 is a historic era?

Since Netanyahu returned to power in January 2023, the number of work permits has soared to nearly 20,000.

Meanwhile, Israel has allowed suitcases holding millions in Qatari cash to enter Gaza through its crossings since 2018, in order to maintain its fragile ceasefire with the Hamas rulers of the Strip.
The human shield bullshit again? Really? In hospitals right? One of Putin"s excuses for bombing convalescent homes, hospitals, schools and shopping centers.

Oopsies???

Israel concedes error in video claiming to show Hamas tunnels under Gaza hospital

The Israeli military fired at least nine missiles at the European Hospital in Khan Younis on Tuesday, the last hospital in Gaza providing cancer and cardiac care. The IDF released a video claiming to show a tunnel network under the hospital, but has since conceded it shows another location nearby.3 days ago

Recruits? Still recruiting are they?

Why Trust Gaza Ministry of Health Data?
To come to this figure, we rely here on Gaza Ministry of Health (“MoH”) data. We do so because of its established historical reliability, and down to the fact that it’s trusted by both the U.S. government and Israeli intelligence.

Indeed, when the IDF itself analysed a list of fatalities released by the MoH this January, it confirmed that at least 83% of the names were real people. Previous iterations of the MoH data lacked identifying information for large numbers of fatalities, but these problems have been fixed in the latest release: nearly all 40,717 names analysed here were published by the MoH with full Arabic names, ages, genders, and Israel-issued ID numbers.

Breaking Down the Numbers
The recently released MoH list names 40,717 Gazans killed during the first full year of the war (7 Oct 2023-7 Oct 2024), identifying them by age, gender, and Israel-issued ID number. The data can be broken down into six demographic categories as represented in the following pie chart:

The first three categories—Young Boys (0-14), Elderly Men (65 and over), and Women and Girls of All Ages—are easily addressed in terms of non combatants.

In the two previous major recent Israeli assaults on Gaza, Cast Lead and Protective Edge, all fatalities in these demographics were noncombatants, according to the B’TSelem database. Therefore, we can reasonably assume that in the current war all three of these categories, which in total account for some 21,664 deaths (53% of the total), are entirely composed of civilians.

The next three demographic categories—Middle-Aged Men 40-64, Older Boys 15-17, and Young Men 18-39—are more complicated and heterogeneous. These groups will include both combatants and civilians. Crucially, each group is 100% male, a fact that will allow us to draw estimations about the number of civilians among them.

You need a side to get your propaganda from? You're not capable of using neutral sources?
Why not?

Netanyahu was days aways from being forced to step down then a miracle of miracles happened. His brainchild Hamas conveniently attacked keeping him in power and the Revisionist agenda alive. How many goals have they nailed since the Holocaustage?

No McDs but other for profit companies.

Foreign policy begins with credibility, and credibility begins with facts and with moral clarity. If Minister Anand wants to lead Canada’s diplomacy, she must first recognize what happened on October 7 — not only because Canadians were among the murdered, but because truth is the foundation of peace.

If she and her government chooses to forget this lesson, they risk not only moral confusion, but strategic irrelevance. Canada cannot afford either. I wonder what Amira Elghawaby would have to say about this?
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said on Monday that Israel would control all of Gaza and would prevent the militant Islamist group Hamas from looting aid.

On Sunday, Israel said it would allow a “basic” amount of aid into Gaza to prevent a “hunger crisis” from developing. Experts have already warned of potential famine if the blockade imposed on the territory’s roughly 2 million Palestinians is not lifted.

Israel has stepped up its offensive in Gaza in what it says is a bid to pressure Hamas to release the remaining hostages abducted in the Oct. 7, 2023, attack that ignited the war that ended the last ceasefire.

Hamas has said it will only release them in exchange for a lasting ceasefire and an Israeli pullout.
This last portion is with respect to Anand’s comments.

Hamas or civilians that are being starved which is another war crime?
Tit for tat? Or only a crime omnidirectionally? Anyway, back on this side of the Atlantic…it’s still undetermined if it was real or fake, this green camouflage item which appeared to be the weapon of war that can cause casualties to about 15 metres in any direction after it explodes. But what is known is there is no other public event where something like this would be tolerated. There certainly was no shortage of police on hand to investigate. There has been no reports of arrests or seizures concerning this grenade so far.

This offers up yet another example of how Hamas supporters are given so much leeway in Toronto. From occupying Union Station and intersections, and stores and campuses, to halting Ontario’s sustenance supply by blocking the food terminal while dressed to look like jihadist terrorists — like they did Sunday before the walk — they do whatever they want, when they want, to whomever they want.

Mostly they do it without ramifications — many times, under police escort and protection. Boys will be boys, etc…

Maybe it wasn’t a live grenade? Perhaps something from a film set or a novelty store? Even with all of those police officers on the scene, the masked-up-to-be-anonymous guy with the grenade was given the benefit of the doubt.

Was it real or not? We may never know since, from all accounts gathered to this point, police did not check.

“I told police about it but they just were not interested,” said one of the people who saw the grenade chained to a man’s clothing along the Walk With Israel event Sunday.

Another person said he went to two different police officers — one from the OPP and one from Toronto Police — and was told they were instructed to not engage with the pro-Palestine disrupters. Toronto Police, the OPP or Toronto Fire, which also had members creating a massive line in between walk participants and protesters, have not yet commented. Meh.
Would Amira Elghawaby approve?
We may never know. She collects her fee, pretty silent mostly as of late, to stay out of the limelight and not steal anybody’s thunder. “If that thing is real and he threw it into a crowd of 56,000 people, there would have been lot of people dead today,” said one person. “It’s insane.” Oh well, no harm, no foul.

If this was a starter’s pistol or a replica gun, in another context, it’s hard to imagine that person would not be taken to the ground and handcuffed – the way independent media often are while covering pro-Hamas events. With this appearance of a grenade, it seems the authorities were prepared to take a chance with their own lives and many others that it was a prop.

Like the smoke canisters that are often let off into a crowd, it’s a big risk to let people do whatever they choose in these settings. It’s especially troublesome in light of the terror attack on two Israeli embassy employees in Washington, D.C. last week, but West Bank & what about-ery so in the propaganda goat rodeo, it all balances out.

Same people hating Jews pre-1948 still at it (?) or they’ve taught their children (?) or are you asking something else here?
Why did they hate Jews pre 48 in Europe, America and Mid East? Is it different reasons today or the same old same old? What did they teach their children about pre 48 to carry forward? Are these European children, American children or Mid East children? What do great grandchildren of those who lead pogroms in Russia and Ukraine do to express their Jew hatred today or are they not hated in Russia and Ukraine any longer? Was it all one sided "just because" hatred or something else?

Why did they? For more than 19 months, Canada and the United States have regularly witnessed protests featuring calls for violence against Jews. Protest organizers have been conducting a largely unimpeded campaign of open-air radicalization, in which crowds are regularly whipped up with incendiary rhetoric.

Who would have thought that in downtown Toronto, we would hear crowds calling for more Houthi missile attacks on commercial shipping? Or that in Ottawa, a crowd would gather outside a seniors’ residence (home to several Holocaust survivors) and chant “go back to Europe” and “we want bullets and missiles”?

As we witnessed in Washington, the idealization of violence within the pro-Palestinian movement is setting the stage for violent actions. Here in Canada, we have seen at least six terrorist plots disrupted since October 7, some of which explicitly targeted Jewish sites.
Video of Elias Rodriguez — the suspect charged in the shooting deaths of two Israeli Embassy employees outside the Capital Jewish Museum in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday — bears striking resemblance to scenes that have been witnessed at anti-Israel protests on Canadian streets and university campuses in recent years. The senseless murder of a young couple solely because they were Israeli and taking part in an event at a Jewish museum is the logical conclusion of calls to Globalize the Intifada.

(Court documents reveal how he allegedly took time to reload and fire additional shots at Milgrim as she struggled on the ground, attempting to escape)

Although Rodriguez was clean cut and not trying to hide his identity, he was seen waving a keffiyeh and began the now familiar chant of “free, free Palestine” as he was being led away by police.

A manifesto posted online after the shooting, purportedly written by Rodriguez, reiterates many of the usual talking points against Israel, but laments that, “Thus far the rhetoric has not amounted to much.” Rodriguez then attempts to justify “the morality of armed demonstration,” and claims others will understand that what he did was “the only sane thing to do.” The social media post was accompanied by a call to “Escalate For Gaza” and “Bring The War Home.” Etc…
What would What’s-her-Pickle say about this?
