That's because the private sector is not allowed to fill in the void.

Then deny them social assistance. That will force them to make the tough decisions.

As for free judges and police officers, have you never traveled abroad before? That's the same the world over. Police officers and judges offer their services to all free of charge, tourists included. What are you proposing? That foreign tourists pay a legal-services insurance policy while in Canada?

Jesus you are dense, I seriously doubt the illegals cross over with wads of cash.
Although, they had cab fare from the airport. ;)
And trying to compare illegals to tourists is simply retarded.
Tourists come to spend money, and most of them should have some type of medical insurance at least.

so just require the same for anyone coming to Canada other than genuine refugees. Medical insurance and no social assistance other than a ticket home. Sink or swim. If you think that's radical, consider that aside from the Chinese Exclusion Act and such, that was pretty much the immigration policy up to WWI. I'm just proposing we go retro... but without Chinese exclusion act and such of course.

And as for Jesus (since you brought him up), what do you think he'd say?

These are genuine refugees Brah! They're escaping Trump and the Evil Empire.

Besides Trudeau welcomed them all.

Yeah, Trudeau's tweet wasn't too bright. Instead, he should have said Canada's open for business. It would have sent the right message. If you have something to offer, come on over.

Canada agrees with you. He better hope this crisis ends before 2019.

I also bet every Canadian is praying for winter to come early.

Makes you wonder what all those Scots shipped to Canada in the Highland Clearances had to offer.

We didn't have such a developed welfare state prior to WWI.

It seems it all changed after WWI. The welfare state began to grow and the more it grew, the more we began to close our borders. Coincidence?

Venezuelan refugees happy to be safe in Manitoba town, but worried for family back home

More refugee claimants may come to Manitoba from Venezuela, says Winnipeg lawyer

Venezuelan refugees happy to be safe in Manitoba town, but worried for family back home - Manitoba - CBC News

He said he's not concerned about another wave of refugee claimants coming from South American countries like Venezuela.

"I believe the Canadian public still has an appetite to support many more refugees. On a per capita basis, Canada is still not among the top countries for receiving refugees," Clarke said.

That was from a Canadian Immigration Lawyer. Still have the appetite?

Automation might have required the retraining of the unemployed, so the rise of the welfare state. And the tightening of immigration policy?
A combination of not needing any more illiterate idiot-stick operators, and wanting to make sure Canada stayed nice and white. Be a shame to let it get all brown after they worked so hard to get the red out.
