Building high rise boxes saves on LIE-beral gravy..............................
as I have mentioned before!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
BUT HOW SAD that building those high rise concrete boxes....................
IS PROVEN NOT to be so environmentally sound!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Firstly because of all the steel and concrete needed for the high rises....................
and WE KNOW the production of steel and concrete - and the glass cladding that that routinely comes loose.................
and showers down into Toronto streets every time the wind blows...............................................
requires A LOT OF FOSSIL FUEL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And of course those concrete towers hold a LOT OF HEAT in summer so cooling is costly!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
As opposed to building HOUSES using that remarkable renewable resource called WOOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And the other problem with building high rises is how many people hop in a car on Fridays...................................
and FLEE the dirty, noisy, stifling hot concrete canyons and head into the quiet countryside!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Condo towers are PROVEN NOT to be environment savers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You forgot to mention how much real estate they are saving for agricultural use!
Build one in the right place and you should be able to drill down a bit and get free oil for heat.
I would guess most people living in B.C. recognize the fact that B.C. has precious little land suitable for food crops! You can only eat so many potatoes!
