Actually they can probably still turn off the taps unless the feds nationalize the oil & gas industry. Just don't have any product to sell to BC because it is all committed elsewhere.

BC (& the Trudeau Liberals) have cut off AB & SK access to inter-provincial trade (throttled it to the '50's era existing pipeline level), & who has cut off BC's anything and when? AB was not acting, but putting in place the ability to react...and the ability to react it what you're referring to, right?
So you're saying that a pipeline through Quebec is the shortest route to a coastline for Western Canadian oil? Is that the deflection you're implying? How about the Federal Gov't get off their arse and get shit done? If this mentality we're seeing now existed 8 generations back there would have been no rail or highway system across our nation. Jesus Christ Man, we just want the ability to be able to afford to continue paying to support $7/day daycare in Quebec and to buy the BC Bud that is propping up the Left Coast economy. Someone has to pay to keep them swimming in their entitlements, and to try to cover Justin's National Credit Card bill.

If only BC relied on just AB. It's up to Shell, BP, Husky and CO-OP whom arent aren't in BC or AB.
There are no injunctions against WA or SK or the refineries in them that supply BC with finished product. There is nothing stopping them for driving gasoline through the roof in the coastal BC region.
If you are unhapoy with AB fuel made from bitumen, as a consumer you have a choice.
You can buy Canadian gas that is from SK conventional oil stock.
Do you buy the non-bitumen sourced or you buy what's the cheapest and creates the most upstream and end user emissions?
What brand do you put in the minivan and where are they getting it from?
Yes, why not both? Why not use Canadian Energy Resources in Canada instead of Shipping it from Venezuela & Saudi Arabia & other stalwarts of Human Rights and Environmental Stewardship?? That's a fantastic question.
As I've cited countless times they do, see Enbridge Line 9 to Montreal, after Oct. 21 there is talk of dusting off Energy East if the Cons. return to Gov. in a majority. Energy East was scrapped over politics, and making sure the Libs. get re-elected, the pipeline that TCPL was going to use is already in the ground up to Montreal. Only new construction is to fully convert it from gas to Oil and extend it to the port of choice.
I've also recently heard from a reliable source that TCPL just landed a 10 year gas contract that may force them to refit the designated Energy East line back to gas to fulfill the contract so it might get interesting.
