I was able to run equipment at an early age. We were pretty much free range with a few semi restrictions. BE home for supper. Running log booms was a nono. Although we did lots of it as teens in the lake .
We were supposed to stay away from the log booms and the river . Boy bouncing on the lily pads was fun .

Dad was a barber so he had those straps that he used to sharpen a razor. He had one at home and while I was never a party to having one used on me, my brothers certainly did - not often but enough that they pretty much towed the line.
