I've to the conclusion that there are those on this forum who are completely oblivious of facts and refuse to consider that there is evil in this world. I am not racist nor am I a bigot but I have come to the conclusion that if I am called either one I need to simply ignore/or maybe wear those names as a badge because I am sick and tired of people making assumptions on my beliefs without having a clue who I am!

There are those who seem to confuse being a conservative with being a fascist and there is nothing that even compares the two. I am a conservative! I am not a fascist! The MSM is just in their glory combining conservatives with these racist ideology. I, along with all conservatives, abhor what these idiots stand for. My issue is that we are being dragged into this and it pisses me off!!!!!

Judge to decide next week on fitness assessment for woman facing terror charges
SALMAAN FAROOQUI, THE CANADIAN PRESS
First posted: Monday, August 21, 2017 01:20 PM EDT | Updated: Monday, August 21, 2017 01:23 PM EDT
TORONTO - An Ontario judge will decide by next week if a fitness assessment is required for a Toronto-area woman facing terror charges in an alleged attack at a Canadian Tire store.
A lawyer appointed by the court to assist Rehab Dughmosh recommended at a court hearing Monday that the 32-year-old woman undergo the assessment to see if she is fit to stand trial.
A Crown prosecutor agreed with that request.
Dughmosh is facing a total of 21 charges, including attempted murder of at least three people for the benefit of or in association with a terrorist group.
She appeared in court by video link after a judge ordered her to be brought from her cell by force. Dughmosh had previously refused to appear in court on multiple occasions.
Ingrid Grant, the court-appointed lawyer designated to assist Dughmosh, said the recommendation for a fitness assessment was based on Dughmosh’s refusal to engage with the court.
During Monday’s hearing, Dughmosh, speaking through an Arabic translator, called those in the court “infidels,” and said she doesn’t worship what they worship.
The judge presiding over the case said she’ll have decided by next Monday — at Dughmosh’s next scheduled court hearing — whether a fitness assessment should take place or not.
Terror-related charges against Dughmosh were laid by the RCMP in early July.
Some of them relate to carrying several weapons, such as a knife and a bow, for the benefit of or in association with a terrorist group.
Dughmosh is also charged with leaving Canada for the purpose of committing a crime, an incident that is alleged to have taken place in April of last year.
She is also charged with other offences that include assault with a weapon and uttering death threats.
Police allege Dughmosh swung a golf club at Canadian Tire employees and a customer on June 3 and threatened them. They allege she then pulled a large knife from under her clothes but store staff pried it out of her hands and restrained her.
Media reports have said Dughmosh pledged her allegiance to the Islamic State terrorist group during a previous court appearance.

Accused Toronto terror-attacker to undergo mental health assessment
The Canadian Press

TORONTO - An Ontario judge has ordered a mental health assessment for a Toronto-area woman facing terror charges in an alleged attack at a Canadian Tire store.
Justice Kimberley Crosbie said Monday that she has reasonable grounds to order the assessment into Rehab Dughmosh’s fitness to stand trial, given the woman’s behaviour at a court appearance earlier this month.
At that court appearance, Dughmosh, 32, responded to multiple questions from the judge by saying people in the courtroom were “infidels.”
“This behaviour has caused me to be concerned about whether she is understanding the nature and object of the proceedings,” Crosbie told the court.
Dughmosh has also previously refused to leave her cell to attend court — and chose not to appear at her hearing Monday — and has claimed that she has said all she needs to in court already.
A correctional officer also told the court earlier this month that Dughmosh generally doesn’t leave her cell to shower, opting to wash in her cell instead.
“This behaviour, involving isolation and withdrawal, is concerning,” Crosbie said.
Crosbie also said, however, that Dughmosh might be pretending not to understand court proceedings.
Last week, a lawyer appointed by the court to assist Dughmosh recommended that she undergo the mental health assessment to see if she is fit to stand trial. A Crown prosecutor agreed with that request.
Court heard that Dughmosh will be transferred to a mental health facility while she undergoes the assessment.
Dughmosh is facing a total of 21 charges, including attempted murder of at least three people for the benefit of or in association with a terrorist group.
Police said she allegedly tried to attack employees at a Canadian Tire in east Toronto with a golf club and a large knife in June.
She was charged with offences that include assault with a weapon and uttering death threats.
The RCMP later added a number of terrorism-related charges in connection with the incident. Dughmosh is also charged with leaving Canada for the purpose of committing a crime, an incident that is alleged to have taken place in April of last year.
Media reports have said Dughmosh pledged her allegiance to the Islamic State terrorist group during a previous court appearance.
Dughmosh is due back in court on Sept. 6, when the results of the mental health assessment are expected.

TORONTO - Alleged Canadian Tire store attacker Rehab Dughmosh has been found fit to stand trial on her terrorism and violence charges.
A psychiatric assessment deemed the 32-year-old Syrian-Canadian woman able to understand the court process.
She has been ordered to appear in court in person on Sept. 20 at the Ontario Court of Justice in Scarborough. She did not appear via video on Wednesday.
Dughmosh has repeatedly said she wishes to plead guilty and doesn’t believe in Canadian laws.
She is accused of attacking store staffers and customers by swinging a golf club at them and carrying a large knife on June 3, 2017.

Accused ISIS terrorist to face trial by judge and jury
By Michele Mandel, Toronto Sun
First posted: Wednesday, September 20, 2017 07:29 PM EDT | Updated: Wednesday, September 20, 2017 07:34 PM EDT
The accused ISIS terrorist doesn’t recognize our legal system. She refuses to stand before the judge. She declines to engage in the proceedings against her.
In fact, Rehab Dughmosh, 32, doesn’t consider herself a Canadian at all. But she will face Canadian justice all the same.
Lucky her.
Dressed in a prison-issued green sweatsuit and all but her eyes covered by a black headscarf, Dughmosh was indicted Wednesday on 14 serious terrorism-related charges, including attempting to travel to Syria in 2016 to join ISIS and four counts of attempted murder with a golf club and knife inside a Scarborough Canadian Tire store this past June. None of the charges have been proven in court.
In a surprising move, Dughmosh announced that she wouldn’t be entering a guilty plea despite her many declarations in previous appearances that she wanted to do so.
“No,” she advised Justice Kim Crosbie. “I am not guilty.”
The judge told her she then had three choices: to be tried in provincial court by a different judge, in Superior Court by judge alone or by judge and jury. Dughmosh refused to choose.
“I do not believe what you believe,” she said through an Arabic interpreter. “Tell her I am still a supporter of the Islamic State and I am not guilty and I don’t want to go to bail court.”
The ever patient judge explained that they weren’t in bail court — she’s already waived her right to a bail hearing — but at the point in the proceedings where they must decide where the case goes next. Dughmosh was told she could select what kind of trial she’d like to have.
“I don’t want anyone,” she replied. “Stop the court. Stop the court.”
She’s been a handful over the last several months — eschewing any legal representation, refusing to leave her cell for video appearances and even having to be dragged against her will. Crosbie ordered a psychiatric assessment to ensure Dughmosh understands the court process. A psychiatrist concluded that she does indeed.
But while she may understand, she refuses to co-operate.
Crosbie explained that since she won’t choose her method of trial, she would have to opt for her: Dughmosh will face a trial by a judge and jury in Superior Court downtown, with it not likely to start for at least a year. Did she have an questions?
“If I refuse to go to court, would they force me in jail?” she asked.
“Absolutely,” Crosbie warned.
“Am I subject to this trial and court because I have Canadian citizenship?” Dughmosh asked. “Anyway, just tell her I waive my right to Canadian citizenship.”
If only it were that easy. Unfortunately, it doesn’t work that way and whether we like it or not, she’s our problem. And a frightening one at that.
Toronto Police say a woman entered the Cedarbrae Mall hardware store on June 3 and headed to the paint department where she began swinging a golf club at staff.
“I’m here for Syria. I’m going to kill everybody,” she allegedly shouted.
Quick-thinking staff and customers managed to subdue the woman and pry a butcher knife from her hand. Among the charges is an allegation that Dughmosh was also carrying a concealed bow.
In a chilling declaration, Dughmosh insisted that she’d do it all again if she could — but this time, she’d have more success.
“I will always be a supporter of the Islamic State until the last day of my life,” she said before being led away from the courtroom. “And if you allow me to go out and leave, I will do exactly what I tried to do the last time and failed.”
Her next appearance is Oct. 11.

Wow, Canada's facing an existential crisis there, buddy!

Alleged terrorist insists she doesn't want a trial
By Sam Pazzano, Toronto Sun
First posted: Wednesday, October 11, 2017 03:52 PM EDT | Updated: Wednesday, October 11, 2017 03:58 PM EDT
Alleged terrorist Rehab Dughmosh insisted during a court appearance Wednesday that she does not want a trial.
However, Justice Michael Dambrot bluntly told the 32-year-old Scarborough woman that despite her comments, she will be tried on several terrorism-related charges.
“Down with Canada,” said Dughmosh. “Add the charge of insulting the judiciary.”
Dambrot stopped the woman — who was speaking through her Arabic interpreter — from making any further comments. He set Oct. 27 as a date for a judicial pre-trial conference.
The Syrian-born Dughmosh is accused of swinging a golf club and wielding a knife at employees and customers at a Scarborough Canadian Tire, while wearing a headband with ISIS markings and shrieking “Allahu Akbar!”
She has shouted her support for the Islamic State during previous court appearances, stating twice she wanted to plead guilty to charges before switching her plea to not guilty. She has proclaimed her disdain for the Canadian judicial system.
“Hey, you infidels, I do not worship what you worship,” she told court Wednesday.
An earlier psychiatric assessment found that she’s mentally fit to stand trial.
She represents herself and will do so at the pre-trial conference with Crown attorney Bradley Reitz and a judge. Dughmosh has consistently declined the services of a lawyer.
Dughmosh was indicted on serious terrorism-related charges, including attempting to travel to Syria in 2016 to join ISIS and four counts of attempted murder. None of the charges have been proven in court.

'Damn your nationality, go to hell,' Canadian Tire terror suspect tells judge

During a brief Toronto court appearance Friday, Dughmosh stood with her back to the judge and repeatedly interjected through an interpreter to call those in the court "infidels."

"Damn your legislation, damn your nationality, go to hell," she said. "Hey you infidels, I do not worship what you worship."

She also expressed a desire to be sent to a country where she could be tried under Shariah law, a request that was denied by Ontario Superior Court Justice Robert Goldstein.

"Your views about what system you would like to be tried under are completely irrelevant," he told Dughmosh, who scoffed in response.

"You should consider yourself lucky that you are caught up in a justice system of this nature rather than one that in your flight of fancy you seem to think is better."

Dughmosh has no lawyer but someone may be appointed to provide assistance to her.

After the alleged attack at the Canadian Tire, she was initially charged with offences that include assault with a weapon and uttering death threats.

The RCMP later added a number of terrorism-related charges in connection with the incident. Dughmosh is also charged with leaving Canada for the purpose of committing a crime, an incident that is alleged to have taken place in April of last year.
