There must be more important things for Toronto council to worry about than trying to oust the Mayor whom they have not liked since before he was elected. No wonder Ford fixed so many important problems so easily. He is the only one focused on the job he was hired to do.
What mistake is that? That he's not fit to run a city because he is nuts and self medicates? The council didn't shove the glass cock in his mouth. The council didn't hire a dope dealer for a driver. The council didn't pour beer down his throat. The council didn't put words in his mouth. The council didn't f*ck over his wife and kids by being a drunken crackhead loser. He did all that by himself.
I think if this is a democratic decision then I would have to abide by it even though I personally cannot say if he is compromised from doing his job.

I'd characterize it more as being "off the rails". But how much of this situation can be attributed to Ford and how much to the media? There is a valid process- at the ballot box. People should wait for it instead of trying to make things happen. What you have now is a big man with a big head of steam.
