he has done some things I liked but he is looking more like a wash up everyday...then again, who really runs for office anymore?

Notice he hasn't denied it? He brushes it off as "ridiculous", his official response. He knows damn well it's real, he's waiting until the video comes out and he'll try to claim it was tobacco or weed.

20 Things Worth Knowing About Toronto’s Crack-Smoking Mayor, Rob Ford

(1) In 1999, as a 29-year-old who had yet to enter public office, Ford was charged in Florida with DUI and marijuana possession (although the marijuana charge was dropped). When the arrest came to light during Ford's run for mayor in 2010, Ford lied and claimed he had merely been charged with failing to take a breathalyzer test, not a DUI.

Lying about easily disproven things would become a Ford trademark.

It began like this: Last week, we got a tip from someone claiming to have a videotape of Ford smoking crack. Would we like to buy it?

Rob Ford, Toronto's conservative mayor, is a wild lunatic given to making bizarre racist pronouncements and randomly slapping refrigerator magnets on cars. One reason for this is that he smokes crack cocaine. I know this because I watched him do it, on a videotape. He was ****ing hiiiiigh. It's for sale if you've got six figures.

Update: Go here to contribute to the Rob Ford Crackstarter. We are crowdsourcing $200,000 to buy and publish the video.

You know, if I'd never (or close to never) heard of Rob Ford before this
story, I might be inclined to think, "Where there's smoke, there's fire."

Being far away from Toronto, & only hearing about Rob Ford via the news
a few times each week, being the focus of some media freak-show 'cuz he's
eating a chicken wing so he must be evil as he's off his diet, or 'cuz some woman
is on his lawn, at his home...in a Zena the Princess Warrior outfit to harass him in
his off hours, or some other equally outlandishly contrived ambush-type nonsense,
I tend to think this is just another twice weekly attempt to discredit this Ford character.

Seriously, I may be alone here in my opinion, but whenever I hear another story about
this Rob Ford that is somehow deemed newsworthy on a national level for some reason,
I just laugh. I'm waiting on another-another call for this guy's resignation, but a story involving
Bigfoot & Elvis & UFO's & the Illuminati & maybe some Tijuana Hookers just for some color.
That video I'd chip in a few bucks to have it released, but not this one.

Maybe my perspective is scued being on the outside and not even really looking in, but just
picking up the stories by osmosis in a second to third hand sort'a way, but isn't the rest of
the country also laughing when this Ford guy hits the news a couple of times each week
it seems in a non-politically related sort'a way along with demands each time (it seems)
for his resignation?

The guy is still in office, so can I assume all the mud slung so far has just been just so
much sour grapes or something, assuming the majority of Toronto's citizens must have
voted this guy into office in the first place? Can Rob Ford really be the Anti-Christ in the
Bicycle Hating/Bus Demanding/Diet Cheating/Using his Cell Phone in Traffic/Etc...sort'a
thing that he's been vilified for over and over?

It's like the story of 'The Boy who cried "Wolf!!!"'

If Rob Ford ponied up the 200K & bought the video himself, and released it directly to the
media....& it turned out to be the Cuban Bartender in the video above or something like that,
would there be folks in the streets of Toronto with torches and pitchforks again-again-again
demanding Ford's resignation 'cuz the money he ponied up was paid to Somalian drug
dealers or whatever the case is this time around to get the video?

Ford has not categorically denied the events.

Rob Ford crack video: Mayor remains out of public eye | Posted Toronto | National Post

Below is about all he has said.

On Friday, Rob Ford seemed to suggest the video was made up by the Star, but never addressed any of the specific allegations made, nor the fact that the story was actually first reported on Gawker, not in the Star.

“These allegations are ridiculous,” Mayor Ford said at a hastily called press conference in front of his office. “It’s another story with respect to the Toronto Star going after me. That’s all I’ve got to say for now.”

Can't say I blame this Ford for getting confused regarding who attacked him first
this time. Perhaps it went "Gawker" on Friday, but "Toronto Star" on the Tuesday,
and some other rag on the previous Thursday, and so on and so forth.

Anything dude say's in his own defense will be used against him regardless of what
he says, it seems, so perhaps it's best he say's nothing, or very close to that.

Good point but he always denied other accusations- Why the change?

How far have these denials gotten this guy, beyond from Tuesday to Friday,
from one ambush to the next?
I agree but Ford is his own worst enemy. Check it out if you want to waste the time. But I like Ford as others do- some of what he has done is good- on others he just opens his mouth and poof- 2 feet inserted.

Bob Ford is like a miscreant Jack in the Box he pops up at the worst possible time.
The one poor basta*d i wouldn't want to be is his campaign manager.
Wasn't there a Mayor of Vancouver accused of buying drugs or something for
ladies of the night? Ford is a blot on the sky line of the great city but he will soon
be swished away

And hopefully about half a dozen more including the illustrious Mr. Harper, Mr. Duffy, Mrs. Wallin, Nigel Wright and it wouldn't hurt my feelings if Peter MacKay was to disappear too. Maybe we could just shoot a six pack into outer space! -:)

We all know Clinton didn't inhale When it comes to Ford did someone have to
teach him to inhale. Is he guilty? I could care less politically hang him for this
then we don't have to follow the story anymore.

Do we really know that Clinton didn't inhale? My firmest memory of Clinton
is his statement that Monica didn't inhale...& we all know how that turned
out. Personally, if Bill was in collage, I couldn't give a rat's backside if his
best friend was his bong.

Regarding Ford, before we hang him, perhaps we should see if this is
another of the same bi-weekly drive-by smeers like I'm assuming most of
the others so far. That whole "innocent 'till proven guilty" thing.....

I don't know who "mayor Moonbeam" is but I'd take a chance on him over Ford. Right now I'm just counting my blessings that we didn't get Premier Dixie Cup! -:)

Probably everyone else's worst enemy too!
