Try to come up with a working definition of “fake news” in a few seconds, something that would fit into a sentence or two.
It’s not as easy as it sounds, despite the endless chatter about the phrase. And you’ll be even harder pressed to come up with a definition that’ll be acceptable to a large number of people.
Ask 10 people for a definition and you’re bound to get 10 different answers.
(And yet LIE-berals are now acting on their desire to crack down on Fake News! In the past, LIE-berals have raged against the Cdn PUBLIC MAJORITY- whom they habitually refer to as “systemic racists” and Islamophobes simply because Cdns do not agree with biased and costly and selfish LIE-beral policies! Anybody who is in a position of authority- such as Ontari-owe Premier Doug Ford or recently elected Quebec CAQ leader Legault are dismissed as “un Canadian”!)
(Such accusations were the traditional kind of insult offered up to enemies of the State during the ugly days of Stalinist Show Trials! And past Cdn history has shown that our Human Rights but often badly Wrong Kangaroo Courts can do show trials that any Soviet Commissar would be PROUD of!)
Yet somehow the federal government thinks it has a firm handle on the issue. Enough so that on Wednesday morning several Liberal cabinet ministers convened a press conference to announce what they’re doing to do combat “fake news,” disinformation and foreign interference in the upcoming federal election.
(This is TYPICAL LIE-beral/Soviet disinformation in itself! Start with a real fact- that foreign govts- mostly Russian but probably including China and Iran- will be trying to influence our 2019 election and then in true LIE-beral style- blow the fact out of all recognition!)
(Cdns have good reason to fear interference from hostile foreign govts! But the DEVIL is in the details since LIE-berals have so often raged against ORDINARY Cdns who they call systemic racists, Islamophobes and un-Cdns! Can we trust LIE-berals to ONLY censor and attack foreign govts? Or should every ordinary Cdn who does not like LIE-beral policy and wants to talk about it start to WORRY!)
(The answer appears to be NO! WE CANNOT TRUST LIE-berals with Our freedom of speech! LIE-berals CONDEMN Islamophobia and have tried to criminalize it- WITHOUT being able to DEFINE IT! Other than to offer us some quite hypocritical mumbling to the effect that fear and distrust of Muslim terror is - in LIE-beral opinion- ridiculous at best and outfight RACIST AT WORST!)
(Out spoken LIE-berals such as Hedy Fry- infamous for her vile remarks about Ku Klux Klan crosses “burning as we speak in Canada”, and Iranian born Maryam Monseff - who displayed a public meltdown after Conservative MP`s demanded a national referendum before blindly accepting the LIE-beral vote rigging system of electoral reform, and Iqra Khalid- infamous for her support of radical Muslim causes- have all made it clear they support criminalizing public comment - that amounts to nothing more than being CRITICAL of LIE-beral party policy!!!!!!!!!!)
The plan includes $7 million to fund workshops that aim to teach Canadians how to sort through potential disinformation as well as “critically assess online news reporting and editorials.”
(That`s nice- LIE-berals are setting up Soviet style Re-education camps! Will attendance be voluntary?? Or COMPULSORY?? Certainly they are FORCING our kids to swallow the propaganda!! And will the camps teach recognition of Socialist propaganda? Or condemn people who don’t like LIE-beral waste and bigotry? We wont know till LIE-berals get it set up and get into action! )
This is a dangerous path to head down, to put it mildly. The very notion of the party in power coming up with the framework for how to police information during a campaign in which they’ll be seeking re-election is already a massive conflict of interest.
(Certainly Adolf Hitler and Joseph Stalin would approve of such direct state control of the media and public comment! And we already have evidence of how fair minded LIE-berals who think they are the natural rulers of Canada will be!!!!!)
In summer 2016 -two Cdn reporters published a news article stating there IS ONLY RADICAL WRITING on the web sites of Cdn Muslim schools and Mosques- and they were IGNORED! LIE-berals were reluctant to attack two employees of a major news chain that had the resources to fight back and to expose LIE-beral BIAS!)
(And yet in summer 2017- a Mississauga man was arrested and hauled into the LIE-beral Human Rights Kangaroo Court - his “crime” was offering money for PROOF of “hate speech” taking place in any Cdn Mosque or school!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(Yes- in LIE-beral Canada IT IS NOW ILLEGAL to ask for proof of events that LIE-berals DO NOT want us talking about! And yet in autumn 2018, LIE-berals REMOVED the charitable status of a Muslim group engaged in supporting Muslim Terrorists - with funding and HATE SPEECH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1!)

(Is it not seeking out hate speech that persuaded FBI to tip off Cdn cops about radicalized Cdn bomb maker Aaron Driver- who blew himself up in a taxi cab west of Toronto as cops closed in??????????)
(Was it not the seeking out of hate speech that persuaded cops to have a chat with a Muslim in Markham- who went on to become the Danforth Shooter?????)
(Was it not the seeking out of hate speech that prompted RCMP in New Brunswick to spend months in surveillance of a Muslim family- even going so far as to use aircraft as eyes in the sky for hours at a time and arresting a young offender on TERROR CHARGES????)
(And was it not a complete DIS-interest in hate speech that allowed a Muslim Cdn to assemble a bomb in the trunk of his car and drive it to the Yankee border- intending 20 years ago during the LIE-beral Chretien era- to leave the car parked at World Trade Centre with the bomb fuse LIT!)
(LIE-berals have demonstrate a totally screwed up approach to national security and to Cdn values! It is why they can tell us that returning Isis fighters “will be a strong voice in Canada”!!!!!!!!!!!!!!)
(It is why LIE-berals are comfortable offering landed immigrant status to the former head of a Guatemalan death squad - AFTER Yankees refused to let the butcher into their country!)
That’s not the end of it, though. The feds also unveiled something called the “critical election incident public protocol.” If the government becomes aware of an “interference attempt” during the election, a panel of senior bureaucrats will be convened to figure out whether it’s serious or not — “a substantial threat to a free and fair election” — and, if so, a press conference is held to inform the public.
(And yet LIE-berals have LONG BEEN DELIBERATELY BLIND to their VERY OWN conflict of interest! I refer to the unholy alliance of civil service union Hogs who vote in huge numbers for LIE-berals- in exchange for LIE-beral pay rate offers that are WAY BEYOND anything earned in the private sector!)
(If a corporate CEO offered his workers a PAY RAISE in exchange for Conservative support- then LIE-berals would RAGE and call for jail time for the CEO! But as long as it is only Hogs and LIE-berals engaged in such conflict of interest then LIE-berals DO NOT CARE!)
What shape is this going to take? What if hundreds of nameless social media accounts originating from Russia or China start sharing a story that makes Prime Minister Justin Trudeau look bad? Is that interference? Likely. If the story is completely bogus, certainly yes.
(In the eyes of MANY Cdns- Our idiot Boy Justin ALREADY LOOKS BAD- so why should Hogs or LIE-berals decide which stories about the idiot Boy should be censored? Can we TRUST LIE-berals to censor fairly? Or will they engage in the sort of shameless acts that saw a Mississauga man arrested for asking for proof of Muslim hate speech- a year before LIE-berals FOUND such hate speech and cancelled the charitable status of a Muslim group for promoting hate!!!!!!)
Then the question becomes, should the feds call on social media outlets to shut down these accounts? And should they then hold a press conference to inform the public to be wary of it all?
Maybe, but the optics of it are difficult — government resources being used in the middle of a campaign for what basically amounts to shooting down a negative story about the PM. Shouldn’t it just be up to the public and other media to swat away the fake news?
Here’s a harder example. What if the story shared by the bots is an accurate story published by, say, the Canadian Press? The bots are sharing it to make the PM look bad, but it’s not fake news. Maybe because of the foreign bots sharing the story so widely a handful of Canadians who were otherwise going to vote Liberal changed their mind. Foreign actors swayed votes. Is that disinformation? Should it be shut down? Should there be a press conference to warn people that an otherwise aboveboard story has fans in the Kremlin?
(We need only go back to the aftermath of the 2015 election - at which time a Cdn Law Professor CONDEMNED CBC for its biased and bigoted interpretation of “fair use” policy! In a democracy- a document is usually covered by copyright laws- but political writings enjoy a unique freedom for public use! Political commentary may be freely used by all parties and groups to better inform the public in elections!)
(Yet in summer 2015, CBC operated on a very much restricted “fair use” policy that had the effect of CENSORING views and comments hostile to LIE-berals! Yes- CBC deliberately mis- interpreted fair use to ensure NO CONSERVATIVE VIEW contaminated CBC news!! And this gross censorship was offered up by our so called National Broadcasting Company!!)
These questions matter. There have been a whole lot of think-tank reports and academic papers written about fake news and they all tend to talk in generalities. But there are no generalities to “fake news.” The only way to tell what’s fake and what’s not is to dig deep into the details.
This is what federal officials and this newfangled incident response panel will be tasked with getting right. Good luck with that.
(LIE-berals have already demonstrated a fondness for whatever makes them look good as opposed to telling the TRUTH! If LIE-berals respected the truth then they would admit their Carbon crap and trade tax SCAM is a costly failure!! And yet LIE-berls are making plans to EXPAND their carbon tax scam using the support of Fake News!!!!)
You can bet that when a press conference is held, it will only make matters worse. It’ll create a cascading reaction where everyone debates whether what’s brought up is actually true disinformation. People will question the government’s motives. This will create confusion and subsequent news stories more fake than the first one.
(LIE-berals are frustrated and angry that their electoral reform PLOT has been scorned! There is sound reason to believe that LIE-berals were hoping to paralyze our parliament in the Italian style by bringing in a huge number of small splinter parties! The apparent intent was to turn our parliament into an out of control spending machine with power splintered and split across so many party lines that nobody would ever regain full control and halt the mad spending!!!!!)
The feds have also released a condescending graphic they’re planning to send around that tells people “think critically about what you see online.” “Why am I seeing this information?” it reads. “Is this message trying to influence me?”
Canadians should also think critically about this whole government plan.
(As Maryam Monseff had her meltdown in parliament over the demand for a referendum on electoral reform - I wrote of the kind of LOONS who would end up in parliament under electoral reform! I mentioned a possible PETA PARTY- dedicated to animal rights- and to forcing us to STOP EATING MEAT!)
