BBC On Benghazi: “This Is Now Very Serious”

It was serious back in September, but finally it is cracking the MSM in a serious way. Welcome to the party.
Via BBC:
There’s new evidence, obtained by ABC, that the Obama administration did deliberately purge references to “terrorism” from accounts of the attack on the Benghazi diplomatic mission, which killed four people including the US ambassador to Libya.

Conservatives have long maintained that the administration deliberately suppressed the truth about the attacks.

This is the first hard evidence that the state department did ask for changes to the CIA’s original assessment.

Specifically, they wanted references to previous warnings deleted and this sentence removed: “We do know that Islamic extremists with ties to al-Qa’ida participated in the attack.”

There’s little doubt in my mind that this will haunt Hillary Clinton if she decides to run for president, unless she executes some pretty fancy footwork.

State department spokesperson Victoria Nuland is directly implicated, and the fingerprints of senior White House aides Ben Rhodes and Jay Carney are there as well.

Blame Bush for the embassy attacks during Obama's term.

The linked article covers a period of January 2002 to September 2008 which was not Obummers time frame.

Obummer was elected in Nov 2008 ..........

Obama Media CYA: Blog “Think Progress” Attacks Whistleblower Whom They Previously Touted When They Thought He Supported Obama Admin Position

They are scrambling madly…
Via WFB:
The liberal blog Think Progress suddenly reversed its stance on Benghazi whistleblower Gregory Hicks, the State Department’s former deputy chief of mission in Libya, citing unnamed State officials in an attempt to sully Hicks’ testimony before a House committee on Wednesday.

The allegations came less than 48 hours after the website touted Hicks’ testimony as supporting the administration’s position on key aspects of its alleged cover-up following attacks on the Benghazi consulate in September.

Hicks “debunk[ed] right-wing Benghazi conspiracy theories” in his testimony before the House Oversight and Government Reform Committee, wrote blogger Hayes Brown on Wednesday.

By Friday, Brown was calling into question Hicks’ credibility, sourcing indictments of his management style to anonymous “staffers based in Libya.”

“I’ve effectively been demoted from deputy chief of mission to desk officer,” Hicks told the committee.

The whole situation was ineptly handled and those in the Whitehouse should be held accountable. (i.e. where was Hillary and what did she know?). Unfortunately, no one EVER asks the questions that should be asked. Carney is a "puppet" of individuals in the Administration who have no respect for the average American citizen nor for the Amnerican Constitution. I'm surprized he doesn't burst out laughing at some of the stuff he says since they're so absurd! Does he actually think everyone believes what he says?

Bengghazi should never be forgotten!

Heads should roll but unless there are some serious changes, nothing will likely happen, the same as the financial crisis/wall street fiasco in 2009 - heads should have rolled and people jailed but it was swept under the carpet. Likely that'll happen again - it'd be nice to think it won't be .... we'll have to see what happens.

If ever you want to watch how an administration will choose its words carefully so as avoid responsibility you need only watch how the Clinton Administration conducted itself during the Rwanda Genocide. This was not only the fault United States, but the International community as a whole. The reason I point specifically toward that Administration because of how they purposefully avoided the use of words like 'genocide' to play down what was happening. From a political standpoint this business in Benghazi is no different in that they are trying to manipulate the message and exonerate themselves of any responsibility. Heads should roll over this.

The Inconvenient Truth About Benghazi

The Obama White House sees every event as a political event. Really, every event, even an attack on a consulate and the killing of an ambassador..

Because of that, it could not tolerate the idea that the armed assault on the Benghazi consulate was a premeditated act of Islamist terrorism. That would carry a whole world of unhappy political implications, and demand certain actions. And the American presidential election was only eight weeks away. They wanted this problem to go away, or at least to bleed the meaning from it.

Because the White House could not tolerate the idea of Benghazi as a planned and deliberate terrorist assault, it had to be made into something else. So they said it was a spontaneous street demonstration over an anti-Muhammad YouTube video made by a nutty California con man. After all, that had happened earlier in the day, in Cairo. It sounded plausible. And maybe they believed it at first. Maybe they wanted to believe it. But the message was out: Provocative video plus primitive street Arabs equals sparky explosion. Not our fault. Blame the producer! Who was promptly jailed.

If what happened in Benghazi was not a planned and prolonged terrorist assault, if it was merely a street demonstration gone bad, the administration could not take military action to protect Americans there. You take military action in response to a planned and coordinated attack by armed combatants. You don't if it's an essentially meaningless street demonstration that came and went.

but anyway...

Flesh and blood

Don't worry, the Beltway family are keeping Americans informed:
The brother of a top Obama administration official is also the president of CBS News, and the network may be days away from dropping one of its top investigative reporters for covering the administration's scandals too aggressively.
Richard Grenell, former Director of Communications and Public Diplomacy for the US ambassador to the UN:
"...the media's becoming the story, let's face it. CBS News President David Rhodes and ABC News President Ben Sherwood, both of them have siblings that not only work at the White House, that not only work for President Obama, but they work at the [United States National Security Council] on foreign policy issues directly related to Benghazi.... Let's also show you why CNN did not go very far in covering these hearings....the CNN deputy bureau chief, Virginia Moseley, is married to Hillary Clinton's deputy, Tom Nides....

Number Of Times YouTube Video Is Mentioned In White House Benghazi Emails: Zero…

And yet that’s what they blamed for more than a week.
Via Free Beacon:

Weekly Standard writer Stephen Hayes reacted to the release of the Benghazi emails Wednesday on “Hannity.”

Chief among the revelations from today’s release of 100 Obama administration emails related to Benghazi is there was no mention of a YouTube video at any point, yet it became a central part of Ambassador Rice’s case during her appearances on Sunday morning television, Hayes said.

Additionally, Hayes also noted that the emails provide further evidence that changes to the talking points were principally driven by the State Department and not the intelligence community, contradicting testimony by former Secretary Hillary Clinton:

State Department Pushed To Remove Reference To Prior Attacks That Had Been In Original Talking Points

They’re not even talking about the two prior attacks at the compound in April and in June, the one in June which was claimed by al-Qaeda, but generically about attacks in the area. Why did they want to remove these references? Because it would look like they were warned and hadn’t done enough, naturally, which of course, was in fact the case.

Obama's Emptiest Benghazi Talking Point

On Sept. 12, 2012, President Barack Obama vowed to "bring to justice" the perpetrators of the deadly attack in Benghazi, Libya. On Oct. 26, 2012, Obama said his "biggest priority" was bringing the "folks" in Libya responsible for murdering four Americans to "justice." Tick, tock, tick, tock.

Did you cheer on the bombing of Libyan Muzzies justified by the letting the Consulate staff be murdered? Yes or no?

If it were stopped by Obama would they have been able to justify bombing Libya?

You've been pimped!

Sharyl Attkisson Scoop: Deployment Of Counterterror Response Team To Benghazi ‘Was Ruled Out From The Start’

CBS News reporter Sharyl Attkisson, who has doggedly been pursuing the details of the federal government’s response to the attack on an American consulate in Benghazi in 2012, spoke to a number of White House officials who told her anonymously that they regret the decision not to send Foreign Emergency Support Team (FEST), a counterterror rapid response team, into the theater of combat that night.

Sad State Of Journalism: Managing Editor, U.S. News, Has No Idea Of Undisputed Facts Concerning Benghazi

Once upon a time, U.S. News And World Report used to have a reputation for actual news reporting.

I realized yesterday as I, and other conservatives, engaged in a Twitter discussion with its managing editor, Robert Schlesinger, how long gone that reputation was.

I could not remember the last time I had read or even seen anything about the magazine, and the conversation with Mr. Schlesinger made me understand why.

Mr. Schlesinger began with the opening salvo that “there was no scandal over Benghazi”. That would be no shame, perhaps, in having that opinion.

But then he revealed that he had absolutely no idea of any of the facts concerning Benghazi:

Do you remember Candy Crowley back in October, while acting as a presidential debate moderator, defending Barack Obama's claim that he had called the attack on our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, an act of terror the day after the attack?

Crowley apparently doesn't, for on CNN's State of the Union Sunday, she actually challenged Obama advisor Dan Pfeiffer about this asking, "Why didn't the president just say, yeah, it was a terrorist attack?" (video follows with transcript and commentary):
