The ArriveCAN app has gone from bad to worse. It was once merely annoying and cumbersome, like having to babysit a too-drunk friend. It’s now a constitutional threat, more like your sloshed buddy, having declared himself Batman, commandeering a police van and “apprehending” passersby.

Now, imagine if it took the cops 12 days to free the victims of your friend’s tequila-fuelled kidnapping spree. And, actually, they think your friend has a fresh take on law enforcement and would like to buy his next round.

If this sounds mad, you’ll find no comfort in knowing it’s not too far off from ArriveCAN’s latest troubles. After an update in late June, the app began to erroneously direct people to quarantine even though they were fully vaccinated and showed no signs of COVID.

According to the government, the glitch issued quarantine mandates to more than 10,000 people for absolutely no reason at all. Of course, if we also take into account the lack of scientific basis for quarantining unvaccinated travellers, the app continues to unjustly isolate many, many more.

But back to the glitch. The government says it fixed the problem within six days, but there’s no way to independently verify whether or not the update worked. Unlike the COVID Alert app, whose code was shared publicly, ArriveCAN was developed and continues to be updated behind closed doors.

Outrageously, it took the government a full 12 days to notify those impacted that they didn’t need to quarantine after all.

The government also can’t seem to get its story straight about exactly how the app works.

I've told you straight up I'm American several times, in addition to the dozens of hints anybody with the IQ of a dead beaver could pick up on.

Not surprised it took you this long.
Aw well, shit happens, yankee chief.

And besides, some members here will lie about who and what they are. And you pretty much appear to me to be a yankee lefty liberal donkey, And so it's hard for me to want to believe anything you say here because of that. So, I wish that you would tell me right here and now as to whether you really are a lefty liberal or not and be done with it. Well chief spreading bull?

Ottawa is making plans to EXPAND the capabilities of its ArriveCAN app even as criticism continues to mount over the mandatory online data-entry system for travellers entering the country.

Earlier this week, Transport Canada gave an update on its plans to improve the app, including by adding an optional, online advance CBSA declaration feature for people going to the Calgary, Edmonton, Winnipeg, Billy Bishop Toronto City, Ottawa, Québec City and Halifax international airports.

The feature, which Transport Canada says cuts the amount of time travellers spend at a Canada Border Services Agency kiosk by a third, is currently only available to those passing through Toronto Pearson, Vancouver or Montreal-Trudeau international airports.

"With the thousands of travellers arriving in Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal airports each day, the use of the optional advance CBSA declaration has the potential to save HOURS in wait time," according to Transport Canada's release.

I am still wondering as to what the Marxist dicktator has in store for us all come the fall. All this ARR.CAN app is nothing more than a tracking device to see as to where Canadians go for their holidays. Our passports can already do this so why in hell do we need to keep filling out this ridiculous ARR.CAN app. it's almost like it is being done on purpose just to harass and piss off Canadians. this Marxist dicktator in Ottawa is having a lot of fun and laugh at our sucker expense. Are you allowed outside of Canada?

Yup, so far so good, but for how long? Come this fall is when I will find out alright because rumor has it that there is going to be something big going to happen this fall. All just conspiracy talk right, but hey, we should find out very soon.

But it was not all that long ago that I was not allowed to leave Canada. I was kept as a political prisoner in my own country. If one was not vaccinated then they could not leave the country. How is that for democracy, eh?

Are you allowed to get out of jail now and then? Just asking.

“We know that Pearson and Montreal have been ranked number one and number two of worst airports in the world. That is an international embarrassment.,”

OTTAWA – Transport Minister Omar Alghabra defended the government’s ArriveCAN app Friday, saying despite the claims of customs officers, airlines, airports and border communities it is not a hindrance to travel.

“There is no evidence whatsoever that ArriveCAN is causing any problems,” he told MPs at the commons transport committee.

He said, while there are still problems, air travel is improving and becoming more reliable. He said, by collecting vaccine information in advance, ArriveCAN speeds up the process???

In the last few weeks, representatives from the Buffalo and Fort Erie Bridge Authority and an association representing Duty-Free stores called on the government to scrap ArriveCAN saying it was reducing traffic and increasing wait times.

Mark Webber, president of the Customs and Immigrations union, testified to MPs in June and said the app forced his members to become IT consultants to help people fill out the app.

“Every Border Officer working on the frontline will tell you that the implementation of the ArriveCan application has seen processing times skyrocket” he said at the time.

Airlines and airports across the country have also called for the app to be scrapped.

Bureaucrats speaking after Alghabra also defended the app, including the Canada Border Services Agency who said it speeds up processing. Failing to use the app can come with a heavy fine for travellers.

Yup and the arrivecan app , phoenix pay system and gun registry should give us a good idea of how expensive cumbersome ,inefficient and down right useless it will be . Don’t worry many faithful Liberals will get full pockets and magically the party coffers will be overflowing .
