^ Another all inclusive, democracy loving type I see.
Democracy is exactly what that ****in' moron Harper has denied this country, and from the sounds of it, you are supportive of that...so don't start talking to me about democracy, because evidently you don't know the first thing about it...
Actually what people support is very important.
Every individuals idea's and opinions are relevant.
I approve of free speech and even think posts like the above should be tolerated.
I couldn't agree more...
However, with typical conservative spin, you've deflected the question entirely...this is not what i was talking about, and you ****ing well know it...
I was talking about after a Parliament is chosen...
After that time, you no longer get a choice in anything the government does...
In an election, we vote for the candidate we feel would do the best job under the current circumstances. If those circumstances change, and we wish to select a different candidate, we can't until another election is called, or the House chooses a different government.
Not everyone's views and ideals are represented in Parliament...surely you must know this...if not then pick up a book and read instead of getting your talking points from conservative.ca
My comment above applies here as well, and I don't wish to repeat it...Who or What people voted for is also important.
It's freedom of choice.
No matter what there particular choice may have been.
We need more people to vote, more people to become involved in our political processes, more people to care.
The GG made a good choice and it was in keeping with our Constitution and Parliamentary precedence.
What the GG has done, is set a precedent that any weak PM can duck a confidence vote...how is democracy being served then? The House has a constitutional RIGHT to vote the PM out of office...
This is not keeping with tradition, this has never ****ING happened before...
What needs to happen now, is that our political system will attempt do its best
in a difficult time.
Hopefully, and most likely it will endeavor to represent the will of the people as best it can.
Just because you don't like the Government of the day has absolutely nothing to do with what or how Government will function.
Our political system may very well be irreparably broken...
You are right, that during a time of election, your vote is extremely important...but how can we trust that anything will ever get done...
I don't believe Harper will get his majority if another election is called...and so we'd end up with another dysfunctional minority government...and no friendly party to reach out to in order to make Parliament work...
They'd be awful goddamn lucky if the Bloc was willing to work with them...
By the way.
Have you voted in all the Federal, Provincial and municipal elections you have been entitled to?
Just curious.
Trex
Yes, and there was a time I did vote PC (never the reformers we have today), but even if there was some resemblance to the PC party now, I'd still cast my vote elsewhere...
