Of course Gerry can legitimately comment. Gerry doesn't support war period. Gerry doesn't give a fu ck what country is in it or what country is leading it. If you fu cking brain dead morons would actually use your brains, you would remember me getting timed out(more than once) for comments I have made about Canadian military, those that serve it, and those that support it. That, however, would fu ck up your own little prejudices.

I'll give you an E for effort but really, I doubt anybody bought into it.

That should have no effect on us. If it does then our government better find the balls necessary to make a Canadian price for our oil that is based on production cost not world speculation.
Market speculation accounts for about 60% of the price of oil. Iran turning the tap off will affect pretty much everywhere.

So true. Every once and awhile they'll bring the Oil Execs in front of Congress and scold them but nothing ever happens. They say the market dictates what the price will be and they have no control.
They are pretty much correct. Exploration, gov't regulation, etc. only acccount for about 40% of the price of oil. The other 60% (approx) is market spec.

Brother; you've really got a burr under your saddle.

NATO and the UN were both created with the loftiest of ambitions with Canada playing a lead role in those discussions and we've been members since their conception.

I for one have been very proud of our troops performance fulfilling peacekeeping missions BUT much less proud of our performance in the logistics end of those missions.

People like yourself probably don't have any cognitive thought regarding our early years in places like Korea and Cyprus but I can assure you Canadians have been held in high regard for their performance of duty but that regard has lately been tempered with the reality of our troops having to beg borrow or rent tranpsort and mission specific gear.

Harper is doing something about that while Liberals in the main were content to commit our young troops but did little to indemnify them from harm through lack of support.

I get it; you hate war but I suspect you also hate many othger things you have no control over in your life and are content to simply whine and spout vitriol about them also.

In short; until the world becomes a vastly different place, military intervention will be necessary. I'd rather my country be one that is prepared regardless and not simply one that stands by and castigates others for assuming the responsibility decided upon by organizations we helped found and are still members of.

Gerry, you may want to think of one important adage.................."There is an exception to every rule"

You don't believe prices are set by some cabal do you?

Actually, two. One (OPEC) sets the world price for crude, the other (Wall St) plays the futures market to manipulate the commodity price. And I gather we are supposed to worship at the feet of the Wall St banks, so I can only assume the the usual suspects will be pleased when gas prices go up.

Maybe there is something to it that could enhance your longevity!

No JLM.... killing another human being is not an option. How many times do I need to say this? Unlike the hypocrites that cry against war and murder the unborn..... or those that decry abortion but have no problem killing children in other countries...... I say no to killing period.

Some situations are kill or be killed.
Some situations are kill or watch others be killed.
I am glad your not willing to protect yourself or your loved ones,
but don't expect the rest of us to follow your lead.

I can certainly respect that sentiment, it's amazing what some people can justify for their own convenience, but I'd have to stop a little short of what you suggest, in that I would kill if it was the only way to protect children in danger of being killed.

No. What he is doing (and doing quite effectively) is shining a light on Gerry mind numbing hypocrisy.
And here I thought your mind was numb because of genetics.

Tell me, is your mind more numbed by it, because you're also a hypocrite?

One of your oft used and favourite fallacies.

Are you actually jealous? Or just giving your hypocrisy muscle a workout?

I couldn't care less if they like us or not ... I would like if they would take ALL of their companies out of Canada ... Leave us alone on are own . Canada doesn't need to have American companies in Canada . I would love to see more Canadian companies being created building Canadian products . Not like how it is now Canadians working for American companies in Canada , giving the credits to the Americans for what ever is being build in Canada by Canadians to the Americans

And yet, children are killed by allied bombs and bullets all the time. I know, I know, collateral damage. Oh well, it's war.

That I have very little control over, if the S.O.B. is pulling a child into a car and a piece of pipe or 2"X4" is handy I can dispatch the S.O.B.
