Listen to the blowhard that paints all Americans with a broad brush... yet expects to distance himself and be separated from the things Canadians do that make him ashamed.

As I said... hypocrite.

I'd give you a thousands thumbs up for that one if I could. Poor Gerry is getting pwned quite a bit lately.

Geez... can't Americans just "like" Canada?

Holy Smoke! If this poll showed Americans NOT liking Canada you'd be freaking out as well!

Good grief what the heck is wrong with you people?
lol

I'm not the one running around the world threatening anyone and everyone that doesn't walk the way YOU tell them to. I don't NEED to carry and waive around a big stick. I'm not the one that has to compensate.

I'll give a Gerry like response...

I'm not running around the world threatening anyone and everyone that doesn't walk the way I tell them to.

See how idiotic you sound?

Do you think they like us because we complain the least when our boys come home in boxes due to friendly fire?

Yeah that must be it. I'm sure that is how the question was phrased.

Any other idiotic responses?

I will tell you when I hear more from the American press because they tend to report the true news

Don’t get me wrong Americans are great people who are hard working and family orientated who have a good work ethic who would rather work all they’re lives and enjoy a good retirement.

The American military has a modern war machine that is an envy of all the world and men and women who serve courageously.
Saying all this they still have a flaw that gets their allied war soldiers killed and that is friendly fire.

I talked to some former soldiers who were involved in war exercises with the Americans and they were not impressed.
Maybe one day the American military will get it right.

Is this "getting it right"? Is this supposed to "impress"?

What the hell is wrong with you people. The O/P's poll was taken from the
American public, NOT it's politicians or policy makers.

Some of you pile on the **** like you really know how to handle it. Maybe a past lifes experience kicking in?

You guys gotta get out of your basements more and talk to different folks around this planet. You might be surprised at the countries whose citizens are less than enamoured with us so having what amounts to 300 million thinking we're not so bad is a good thing you nutbars and has nothing whatsoever to do with Harper, conservatives kissing ass or whatever else causes you to lay awake nights clutching your teddybears.

Go ahead and take a position on the policies of the country below us but like ourselves, they don't deserve to be judged by their governement's behaviour or do we?

Mr.Smack, I'm almost afraid to ask, but....is that a submarine or an old sea-can?
Maybe some hybrid of the two? A chunk of culvert with a conning tower attached?
Is the conning tower atached to a real sub behind that thing in the forground?

It is from another thread of a Canadian sub that sort of... smashed into the bottom of the ocean.

I agree with your general position, but carpet bombing isn't a fair characterization. We don't have enough equipment to carpet bomb anything much bigger than... well, a carpet.
Smack is desperately trying to divert attention away from his country's war mongering by pointing a finger at Harper's attempt to join the big boys at the table. Many Canadians were suckered into the BS reason for attacking. As always it was about oil. I guess Harper is trying to distance himself from the "Bush Lite" characterization by moving in the "right" direction even farther.

No. What he is doing (and doing quite effectively) is shining a light on Gerry mind numbing hypocrisy. Gerry loves to criticize Americans personally because of what their politicians do. Now he is being fed his own words back to him and they aren't tasting so good. I think it is you that is trying to divert attention. Does it bother you that your government took a leadership role in the international aggression against Libya and if so, what are you doing about it?

Yeah, I have to agree with at least the first part of that. Gerry can't legitimately deny all personal culpability for what the Canadian government does and at the same time condemn all Americans for what their government does.

Yes Dexter... you're right and it is not a fair characterization. However it is the same characterization that was unfairly bestowed on our country with regards to Iraq and Afghanistan from certain people in this forum who NEVER in a million years thought they would actually LEAD one of these air wars. Just giving a bit of their own medicine back to those particular people.
