Makes sense for the most part. As soon as you get into the affairs of other nations, they get into your own affairs. Deal with your own nation and people first and ensure their security, reduce the crime, make life happy, frig that's what the government was supposed to do in the first place.... to make our lives better.... if not, then wtf do we have governments running things in the first place?

Once you secure your own nation into a good standing and where the people actually enjoy their lives, rather then putting up with the mentality of "Well, we're not as bad as some 3rd world country" and sucking it up, then you can perhaps start to offer help to other nations.... until then, a nation in need of repair, trying to help other nations in need of repair, is sorta the pot and kettle mentality if you ask me.

I greatly admire the Swiss. I have always thought that compulsory military service to be an excellent way of instilling in citizens responsibility for their country.

I do have difficulty withthe swiss stance during WWII. It seems unconscionable to watch Hitler invade country after country and not help stop it, or worse make massive profits from it.

The Swiss have a saying: "Money has no smell"

They've used it well, and prospered. Had they not, they would have been decimated during WW2. - during the heyday of the blitz.

So, as the world's bankers, why would a warring nation want to attack them, with all their sheckles in Swiss strong boxes and numbered accounts. Somebody's has to hold the cash and prosper from others' misery.
