Gender is not necessarily an indication of strength or lack of it. I know a lot of girls who could thrash me if I deserved it. The shame is acting like an A$$hole, not in getting beaten up! -:)
reality is gender does affect strength though...in general a man of the same size as a woman has eight time the upper body strength, that is just a physical truth so no need to deny it...there is not shame in it

You got it right. Judo is all about balance and using your opponents "momentum" against them. I took many years of "kung foo" when I was younger along with some training in Karate and Jujitsu.

The shame of it (the OP) is that this could have been used as an opportunity to explain just that, which not a lot of people really know. Instead it was used as a soapbox moment for someone.

You know how some people are able to take the most innocent word and make it sound sweaty and dirty and x rated? Some people hear misogyny that way.

Because they want to hear it. I'd swear some people are ready for war every moment of the day. If you go through life fully expecting to see misogyny or racism or whatever around every corner, you're going to find it whether it's actually there or not. And that actually does more harm, because sadly there really is sexism, racism et al but it gets buried and blindsided by all the 'molehills are mountains too' brigade.

Geez, Sal, Shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, you don't want to be too vociferous about that little point, women have been trying desperately to get the same wage as a man for doing labour! -:)

and if they can do the same job then they should. There is only so much weight one is ALLOWED to lift by themselves by WCB rules. As long as they can do that, they should get the same wage as any other person doing that same job.

Absolutely.....25 years ago...in the paper mill where I worked, the hadn't hired women on the machines since the second world war, because they had a weight limit they wouldn't hire even men weighing less than 150 lbs, because, before then, rolls of paper had to be pushed around by hand....
Some of the first women they hire were pretty normal girls...some good workers others not so good, about the same ratio as men....
They sure had a good laugh in the smoking area one day when I told one guy whose sister had just started to work a few days before "Your sister is a better man than you are"..........and she was a better worker than a lot of the guys and not afraid of sweating or getting dirty......

I agree as far as that goes. I know some jobs requires lifting up to 100 lbs. BUT say (for sake of argument the job is unloading 100 lb. sacks of feed off a truck) one person can move a sack a minute while another can move 4 sacks a minute. Get my drift?

It really shouldn't matter the gender of the applicant. It's whether or not they can preform the necessary tasks to complete the job. End of story.

You don't hear the term so much any more but back in the day a sissy or a weakling was sometimes referred to (out of ear shot of course) as a "weak sister". -:)

Why out of ear shot? Too much of a "sissy or weakling" to say it to his face?

Codswallop.

If that were the case then it would be more acceptable for men to beat women.

But the reason why that's looked down upon is because males are, on average, bigger and stronger than females.

he was beaten by a 19 year old girl...she whooped him

However, she's a judo champion, and he isn't.

exactly, she has skills he does not, all things being equal, she would not have beaten him...

age matters too... a young woman may well beat an old man even with the skill level being equal

it's all relative

This is getting to be too much- two idiots to deal with before 6 A.M. I said "not necessarily", you said "on average"! F**K!
