Pretty funny what you and the US congressman don't realize is Sask. and Alberta's border already exist to the Arctic Ocean technically, those areas are administered by the provincial Governments

... what the everloving fuck are you going on about?

That has nothing to do with what I posted...

I’m looking at the map and I can see what you’re describing, but this might be news for Nunavut & the NWT. The line for a border I mean, & not the areas administered by the Provincial Gov’ts.

Except for the recent devastation to the forest industry. They are also working hard to destroy mining in the province and doing as much damage as they can to fish farms.

And now the Marxist NDP government in BC has just created another new government bureaucracy for the taxpayer's to have to fund. With the NDP, one can always count on those Marxists to try and make the government bigger and bigger and then be able to suck more taxes out of it's overtaxed taxpaying slave peasants. The NDP communists try and destroy jobs while at the same time tries to make government bigger. Canada has truly become a socialist/communist state. Any bets that in the next BC provincial election the insane voters here in BC will put the NDP Marxists back in power? (n)

You can move to Boston Bar , the grocery store there has beer .

If I wanted to give up on life, well Boston Bar is where I would go and live and wait to die. What a shit hole. But why is it that a grocery store in Boston Bar can sell booze but no where, as far as I know, in the lower mainland can sell booze in their grocery stores. There is really something wrong with this fkn picture. But then again, there has been something wrong with BC forever it seems. I guess that it must be due to the salty air. Just saying.

Just go on the Rez white boy. There are no liquor laws or hours.

It sure must be nice to be an Indian in Canada these days. An Indian can go buy just about anything they want to buy from any business outfit on white boys land and not have to pay any taxes on what they buy. On top of that those Indians get a government check every month for doing sweet phuk all from this taxpaying white boy. The white folk are now owned by Indians as they cannot do anything without their permission. Old whitey is now the victim's in this Indian country. Just saying. (n)

We have that myth here too. I want my damn checks!
My wife, after researching her background and finding out she was west coast salish and not spanish (lol), she decided to look at getting her status. I asked her why? I had already gone through this when my little sister wanted our mother to get status so she could. It really gave us no advantages. Unless one is living on a reserve, it's no different than not having status. She is still going to go through with it, but now it's more about proving her heritage. For me, I'm Canadian. I know what my heritage is and don't feel it necessary to "prove it" to anyone. If someone doesn't believe me, no skin off my ass.

Yep. I'm American. My ancestry is 1/4 Shawnee, 1/4 Irish, and half who-knows (probably Native). Don't matter. My passport says I'm American and my "white card" says I'm Shawnee. All either of them gives me that you don't have is the right to vote in national and tribal elections.

One of the reasons I liked my time in the service so much was that so few people gave a damn less "what" I was, and those who did, only out of idle curiosity.

I also got "grandfather citizenship" in Ireland in 1984. Funniest-looking Paddy you ever did see.

If you had a Treaty Status card in Canada, you’d be sadly disappointed.

The whole system is quite corrupt with respect to educational funding (you’d best belong to the correct political family to get funding, and hope that relative stays in office until you’ve graduated) for example.

At one time, for a time, if you lived on a reserve, & had whatever it was you where shopping for (furniture, car, etc…) delivered to the Rez… you could avoid both taxes (at least in Saskatchewan), but if something was purchased off reserve and not deliver to a reserve and you presented your treaty card you might avoid one of the two taxes…(The provincial one) Depending on what it was that you were buying.

Many of those loopholes are gone now as the decades slide by. As far as the monthly check for being a native, depending on where you are it might be an annual or biannual check, and if you save those checks for several years you can buy dinner for your family once. Seriously….

This may be different in other provinces but out here I’ve heard lots of talk of the five dollar checks, and people line up to get them so that they say they’ve gotten them. It’s more of a social gathering and inside joke than anything regarding financial gain. Many don’t even cash them & some frame them and hang them on the wall.

I imagine not getting the joke is a daily occurrence for x-meat.

"Many people don't know this, but the Irish invented the bagpipes. We gave them to the Scots and to this day they still haven't figured out the joke."
