It's the Dems fault. They aren't playing the negotiating game. Give them a few more days and they'll come around.

Not according to CNN. Having trouble with the Shumer video, but the post is here.

Both sides are refusing to stand down ahead of a tentative Senate vote currently scheduled for the wee hours Monday morning on whether to end the government shutdown.

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell and Minority Leader Chuck Schumer each took to the chamber floor on Sunday to trade blame for the shutdown, both accusing the other side of taking hostages.

But in contrast to the sharp speeches from the respective party leaders, a few Republican senators sounded somewhat confident notes that they would receive enough support from Democrats to reopen the government on a short-term basis without a simultaneous deal on immigration.

South Carolina Republican Lindsey Graham, who voted against the short-term funding plan on Friday, and Texas Republican John Cornyn, the majority whip, both predicted they could get enough support from Democrats in the vote early Monday to pass a three week extension and keep the government open through February 8.

"I think there will be a breakthrough tonight," Graham said. "If there's going to be one, it'll be tonight."

At the same time, Graham said that the White House was not leading on the situation and that White House staffers were serving the President poorly.

"The Senate needs to lead 'cause no one else is," Graham said, adding later, "The White House staff, I think, is making it very difficult."

Nope. I just couldn't get the video to work. But thanks for the superfluous post.

"Congressional leaders tell me to negotiate with President Trump," Schumer said. "President Trump tells me to figure it out with the congressional leaders."

The art of the deal.

Next contestant, please.

Right now the only hope is with the moderates.

All the loud mouths have had their say and its totally dead in the water.

Trump and all the other idiots need to shut up and let the few reasonable people in government work it out

Well, I might be inclined to agree if the elections were being held this week, but the mid-terms aren't until November. Too many things will happen between then and now, so I have to say it doesn't matter at present. It's too early.

The guy is a con artist, liar and immature idiot. He was given a million dollars from his father and managed to loose that, built a real estate business and didn’t pay his creditors, bankrupt 4 times and selling his name, which is really worthless if you actually look at the guys business practices..

He milked millions out of unsuspecting people with Trump University, put his name on steaks and sold them at double the price.. you could have gotten better at Costco.

To me he’s nothing more than a glorified car salesman.

Sounds a lot like penis envy to me. Trump apparently has one.

Yes, it is conceivable that Trump could manage to pull his head out of his rectum and start to be a somewhat capable POTUS.
