I can understand & speak some French, and I can understand and speak more Spanish (though it makes the Colombian woman’s ears hurt that I work with in the same building), but after the last handful of years with these other trucking companies in the building….I don’t have a single word of whatever the hell they’re speaking. Not one.

I get along with everybody, don’t get me wrong, but I’m just saying I haven’t picked up a single word of whatever their common language is. I’ve been in and out of just about everybody’s office at some point or another, and from phone quotes, to dispatch, to general conversation conversations…none of it is in French or English…

I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but I’m saying they’ve got their own economy going on that interacts with, but is separate than, what we’ve got going on.
It's going to get worse not better given the Canadian Caucasian birth rate.

President Donald Trump said Monday that the U.S. will impose 25% tariffs on countries that buy oil and gas from Venezuela, as he seeks to increase pressure on President Nicolas Maduro and China.

Countries that buy oil and gas from Venezuela will face tariffs on any trade they have with the U.S., Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. The tariffs take effect on April 2, the president said.

"If they buy their oil from Venezuela, they have to pay a 25% tariff to do business with the United States —that's on top of existing tariffs," Trump said during a press conference at the White House.

I know where Western Canadian oil comes from… but do you refineries in eastern Canada by oil from Venezuela still?

You thought you knew where Western Canada gets its oil.

Prior to TMX Venezulan oil has been used as feedstock for the refinery in Burnaby and as fuel inported from refineries in Puget Sound in Washington which still may be imported to this day

When PetrosCanada or Shell in Edmonton have back.to back maintenance turn arounds it impacts supply to BC and Washington. The US Navy in Everett and Whidby Island AFB and Moses Lake AFB get first dibs leaving consumers in BC WA and OR to suffer.

I posted about it eons ago about how the price of gasoline dropped 15 cents a liter when a tanker with oil from Venezuela landed in Burnaby.[/url]

Vote buying. In case you missed it, there is an election going on. Wannabe politicians have to be seen doing something. Right or wrong, or just plain stupid, is irrelevant.

The U.S. was the second-largest destination for Venezuelan crude last year, importing about 233,000 bpd, according to Kpler.😳

Holy Crap! Trumps going to tariff America?
1742866665477.jpeg

(India purchased about 61,000 bpd and Spain bought nearly 60,000 bpd in 2024)

Tariffs were top of mind for many of the farmers at the show. China recently introduced 100 per cent tariffs on Canadian canola oil and canola meal. That move is seen as a tit-for-tat measure in response to Canada's 100 per cent tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles. Meanwhile, America is poised to implement 25 per cent tariffs on all products — including canola — next month. Good times.

"We've had so many years of Liberals and their policies that do not support Western Canada at all," said Carl's wife, Elsie Jensen. She voiced a commonly-expressed view at the show that Saskatchewan boasts natural resources and should have thriving energy and farm sectors, but haven't seen the benefit of those resources.

"We're carrying the country and they're punishing us."

Fentanyl arriving to the U.S. from Canada was not mentioned in a report released Tuesday that outlines what the U.S. intelligence community considers the most direct, serious threats to the country, despite President Donald Trump claiming that illicit drugs coming through the northern border are “an unusual and extraordinary threat.” ???

I thought this was some kind of state of emergency in the US…?

The Trump administration has linked its punishing tariffs on Canada to Ottawa’s inability to stop the flow of fentanyl, which it says has risen massively in recent years. However, previous reporting from The Globe has found that the White House is using misleading data about drug seizures and their links to Canada.🤔

Precursor chemicals and equipment for producing fentanyl were primarily sourced from China and India, the report said.

The Annual Threat Assessment, released Tuesday by Tulsi Gabbard, the Director of National Intelligence, states that Mexico-based crime organizations are the dominant producers and suppliers of illicit drugs, including fentanyl, heroin and methamphetamine. The report said that last year, official points of entry along the U.S.-Mexico border were the main entry point for illicit drugs, often concealed in passenger vehicles and tractor trailers.🤫
During a planned Senate Intelligence Committee hearing to discuss the report and worldwide threats on Tuesday, Democratic Senator Martin Heinrich of New Mexico pressed Ms. Gabbard about Canada’s omission from the report and said he was surprised it was not mentioned given Mr. Trump’s rhetoric.

Ms. Gabbard said the focus of the ATA is on the “most extreme (=actual?) threats,” and its assessment is that the most extreme threat is “from and through Mexico.”

Unless our Govt itself is importing it... that would ruffle feather.

Look into "safe supply" and follow the money.

And that’s a huge problem in Canada, but is it a huge problem in the US? Citing U.S. Customs and Border Protection data, the White House has asserted that 43 pounds of fentanyl was intercepted at the northern border last fiscal year, marking a “massive 2,050 per cent increase” compared with the year prior, when two pounds of the deadly synthetic drug was seized.

However, a Globe analysis of the border agency’s figures found that the dataset does not reveal anything about the origin of the drugs. U.S. border agents confirmed to The Globe that the agency’s methodology for attributing seizures to the northern border doesn’t hinge on whether the fentanyl was intercepted at the border or whether it came from Canada. It could have been seized hundreds of kilometres inland, and it may have no ties to Canada whatsoever.

Follow the blame & its source, & the proof (or lack there of) of the accusation.

Actually, no, ‘cuz I’ve been busy due to this whole tariff’s threats, & counter threats, & counter counter threats, and delays and so on and so forth…with supposedly the next big punchline coming in…a week & a day.

On the issue of having a call with the American president, Carney has said several times that he will only speak with Trump once he’s willing to show Canada some respect. That sounds good, but the Wall Street Journal, the Toronto Star and CBC all reported that an attempt had been made by the Canadian side to set up a call with Trump, but he wasn’t responding to the outreach by Carney’s team, & yet:
1742951786101.jpeg
This above comes across as something natural and grassroots? Not hinky at all?
1742951896569.jpeg
…& Carney is supposedly the best guy to deal with Trump (?) & thus this “organic” turn in his fortunes? Does this look naturally occurring to a guy who has been the liberal leadership appointee for something like two weeks? Never been in politics? Already caught in several lies & not only threw the little brown guy under the Liberal bus…but he also stole Arya’s homework. Wow…
1742952427920.jpeg
1742952224196.jpeg
“Could”…”Maybe”…”Might” even…& after about 10 weeks of this bullshit we’re suppose to be hopeful & grateful both or something? What a bunch of horseshit.

Canada “could” be on the lower end of U.S. President Donald Trump’s threatened global tariffs next week, the Star has learned.

The Star spoke to three sources and agreed not to identify them so that they could speak frankly about the sensitive bilateral discussions. Despite a recent news report the tiered-approach is not on the table, the sources said it aligns with the government’s understanding of what’s about to hit next week??? So more lying sacks of shit then? More sick games?

One insider said U.S. Commerce Secretary Howard Ludite has conveyed that countries would be targeted at a low, medium or high tariff level.

A second source said there is no clear information about what the high level might be — “is it 25, 70, 100 per cent or more?” — and which countries would face the upper range of tariffs. But the suggestion is tariffs in Canada’s case could be “cumulative,” said a second source.

The third one? Still practicing his lines to try & say them with a straight face?

(Canadian steel and aluminum shipments to the U.S. have been penalized with a 25 per cent tariff since Mar. 12)

On Tuesday, Liberal Leader Mark Carney — who polls show most Canadians currently trust as the best choice to confront Trump ??? — outlined plans to accelerate defence spending to reach NATO's two per cent of GDP spending target before 2030.
1742953267314.jpeg
Where were these Canadians that are supposedly so gung-ho about the Liberals for the last two years let alone the last ten?
1742953431215.jpegPromising to “rebuild, reinvest and rearm” Canada, he outlined plans — with not much detail — to deliver new submarines and icebreakers, to re-equip and shift Coast Guard patrol vessels for double duty, to deploy aquatic and airborne drones for surveillance, to increase the ranks of military personnel (and to pay and house them better), and to modernize Canada’s procurement system to speed up defence purchases. He also vowed Canadian steel and aluminum would be used in shipbuilding and other projects.
1742953448093.jpeg
A Liberal government under him would be more “deliberate” about assessing the costs and benefits “or the risks and benefits” of Canada’s interoperability with U.S. defence systems, Carney said.
It seems that lying for Mark Carney comes so casually, he doesn’t even realize it. On Monday, the Liberal leader tried to fib to the Canadian public about both a call with Donald Trump and about his desire to take part in a French language debate…but that’s just sooo yesterday (?) & after being lied to by Liberals chronically for the last decade that we don’t even blink anymore when it happens?

Same with Trump and his nonsense? This clown isn’t playing eight dimensional chess like so many seem to think, but just some sadistic game of chicken as he’s getting his rocks off with his billionaire butt-buddy Elon. Trump continues to claim Canada should become his country's 51st state, and to threaten Greenland as well? Get bent!

Then there’s U.S. Vice-President JD Vance. “Speaking for President Trump, we want to reinvigorate the security of the people of Greenland, because we think it's important to protecting the security of the entire world.” Really? Aren’t you the same douche-canoe attacking the Ukrainian president in the Oval Office just weeks ago?

Anyway, no, I haven’t heard of the Walter White level labs being shut down in the last couple weeks, but I have heard of several huge drug busts of shit flowing into Canada by CBSA.
