I can understand & speak some French, and I can understand and speak more Spanish (though it makes the Colombian woman’s ears hurt that I work with in the same building), but after the last handful of years with these other trucking companies in the building….I don’t have a single word of whatever the hell they’re speaking. Not one.

I get along with everybody, don’t get me wrong, but I’m just saying I haven’t picked up a single word of whatever their common language is. I’ve been in and out of just about everybody’s office at some point or another, and from phone quotes, to dispatch, to general conversation conversations…none of it is in French or English…

I’m not saying that’s a bad thing, but I’m saying they’ve got their own economy going on that interacts with, but is separate than, what we’ve got going on.
It's going to get worse not better given the Canadian Caucasian birth rate.

President Donald Trump said Monday that the U.S. will impose 25% tariffs on countries that buy oil and gas from Venezuela, as he seeks to increase pressure on President Nicolas Maduro and China.

Countries that buy oil and gas from Venezuela will face tariffs on any trade they have with the U.S., Trump said in a post on his social media platform Truth Social. The tariffs take effect on April 2, the president said.

"If they buy their oil from Venezuela, they have to pay a 25% tariff to do business with the United States —that's on top of existing tariffs," Trump said during a press conference at the White House.

I know where Western Canadian oil comes from… but do you refineries in eastern Canada by oil from Venezuela still?

You thought you knew where Western Canada gets its oil.

Prior to TMX Venezulan oil has been used as feedstock for the refinery in Burnaby and as fuel inported from refineries in Puget Sound in Washington which still may be imported to this day

When PetrosCanada or Shell in Edmonton have back.to back maintenance turn arounds it impacts supply to BC and Washington. The US Navy in Everett and Whidby Island AFB and Moses Lake AFB get first dibs leaving consumers in BC WA and OR to suffer.

I posted about it eons ago about how the price of gasoline dropped 15 cents a liter when a tanker with oil from Venezuela landed in Burnaby.[/url]

Vote buying. In case you missed it, there is an election going on. Wannabe politicians have to be seen doing something. Right or wrong, or just plain stupid, is irrelevant.

The U.S. was the second-largest destination for Venezuelan crude last year, importing about 233,000 bpd, according to Kpler.😳

Holy Crap! Trumps going to tariff America?

(India purchased about 61,000 bpd and Spain bought nearly 60,000 bpd in 2024)
