Pete, I’m only up to let out some dogs for a quick pee and I’m going back to bed, because I’ve been burning the candle at both ends since about January 20th over this whole bullshit bully flex thing.

I don’t wanna start and fall down a rabbit hole in order to get up for the day and four or five hours, for another 16 or 17 hour stretch of stupidity…but do you have anything beyond a TikTok video that you can post here to verify the claims in the TikTok video that you posted?
We all know that eastern Canada has their dairy (dairy&chicken I guess) cartel, & their maple syrup cartel, etc…but for the rest of the claims in that TikTok video, can you find a link to something written and credible you could post, please?

I would love to run through it, but all I’m seeing at a quick glance, is Canada’s reciprocal response to America drowning out everything else…& and I don’t wanna start searching and then in the background in a few hours hear my alarm going off in another room to mean my day is starting.

That would still be incredibly dumb.

Depends on how long we keep it shut off.

But hey, it is only Alberta,

Why do you think so little of Alberta?

the main supplier of your welfare

My welfare? I live in New Brunswick, not Alberta.

that will get hurt so who cares?

Canada's already "being hurt" by this bullshit.

And Trump is already backing off because he's a bully and like most bullies, a coward.

Turning off the power and the oil would be the way to show this clueless moron that we're not to be fucked with, that he DOES need us and to stop jerking us around.

Seems we won't need to go so far - yet - but it should still be an option for when he tries this bullshit again.

Alberta exports something like a “Brazilian” barrels of oil south daily, & the taps just don’t turn off, so we’d have to put that oil somewhere every day, if it isn’t going south…because production can’t stop, because if it does, it might not start again or at least not all of it.

It’s not like a faucet. If you stop it, it might take months to get it going again if ever for some wells, etc…they’re not on a switch. That’s what (& not pointing any finger fingers) many people just don’t understand.

If….If we did stop sending that oil south for a week, because we don’t have the capacity to send it elsewhere, we would have to do something with it. It would have to go somewhere even if it’s into storage containers of some type…& that’s a lot of Tupperware.
(YouTube & “'He doesn't know what he's doing': Trump delays Canada, Mexico tariffs for automakers”)

Canada is trying to get Trump to back down from his plan to effectively torpedo free trade between the two countries. The president's 25 per cent levy on virtually all Canadian goods has rattled markets and consumer confidence on both sides of the border.

Trump has justified his threat by accusing the three targeted countries of not doing enough to prevent drugs, specifically fentanyl, from entering the US. He has also insisted that Canada and Mexico are flooding the US with unauthorised immigrants by permitting them access to US borders. Using these excuses, Trump declared a state of emergency by invoking the International Emergency Economic Powers Act (IEEPA) and imposed tariffs on the three countries, bypassing America’s own checks & balances to prevent this sort of thing from happening.
1741250574119.jpegFinally, he has “alluded” to the trade deficits that the US has with each of these nations – its top three trading partners…& here we are.

I think what Canada’s should do is on TV, broadcast to the states is explain to old Donnie that Canada is going to kick old Donnie in the nuts. Then flip the switch to shut the power off to the states, put the phones on a recording saying we are closed now, phone back at 9 AM tomorrow, or the White House, ask for old Donnie to fix the problem.
Do you think he'd care? Or even notice?

Cant turn the power off until June when hydro reservoirs are full (if they fill). There is no off switch for oil. How about we cut off french fries and fish. Fish and french friez have an off button. Fish will stay fresh for years in the ocean. What to do with potatoes? Ethanol.

The goat-rodeo of stupidity continues. Canada offered to delay its second phase of counter-tariffs against the U.S. if Donald Trump drops tariffs on all Canadian products — not just in the auto sector — that are covered by and comply with the Canada-U.S.-Mexico Free Trade Agreement, the Star has learned.
1741278399619.jpeg
High-stakes talks continued between Canadian and U.S. officials with no word about whether there would be more exemptions from Trump's crippling 25-percent tariffs after Still Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Trump held their longest call ever, and Trump announced he would exempt North American carmakers from tariffs for at least a month.

Trudeau and Trump spoke for 50 minutes Wednesday, a conversation described as heated and chaotic at times, where the president was joined by Vice-President JD Vance and Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, according to a senior Canadian official.

Trump demanded that Canada drop retaliatory counter-tariffs that Trudeau levied against $30 billion worth of American imports which took effect after Trump launched the first salvo of a trade war on Tuesday, slapping across-the-board 25 per cent import taxes against Canadian products, and a 10 per cent levy on energy.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Canadians should expect to be in a trade war with the United States “for the foreseeable future.”

vs

1741286208943.jpeg
(‘cuz migrants & fentanyl, etc…)

vs

As the still prime minster was speaking, Lutnick told CNBC that Trump was “likely” to decide to exempt all trade covered by the free trade agreement with Canada, the U.S. and Mexico from the 25 per cent tariffs until April 2, which he announced for the auto-sector the day before???

This is all in the same freak’n news story…
Trudeau said while that “aligns with some of the conversations” Canadian officials have been having with the White House and is a “promising sign” he would wait to see an official agreement before offering Canada’s response. Until then, he says Canada’s retaliatory tariffs will remain in place.
