Re: Kerry Says Chemical Arms Attack in Syria Is ‘Undeniable’

"I do not understand this squeamishness about the use of gas. We have definitely adopted the position at the Peace Conference of arguing in favour of the retention of gas as a permanent method of warfare. It is sheer affectation to lacerate a man with the poisonous fragment of a bursting shell and to boggle at making his eyes water by means of lachrymatory gas.

"I am strongly in favour of using poisoned gas against uncivilised tribes. The moral effect should be so good that the loss of life should be reduced to a minimum. It is not necessary to use only the most deadly gasses: gasses can be used which cause great inconvenience and would spread a lively terror and yet would leave no serious permanent effects on most of those affected."
-Winston Churchill

Re: Kerry Says Chemical Arms Attack in Syria Is ‘Undeniable’

For those that are for and those that are against attacking Syria, did you have the same opinion when Saddam was massacring Kurds?

An honest reply would be appreciated.

Bump- I asked a clear question, quite reasonable at that.

Re: Kerry Says Chemical Arms Attack in Syria Is ‘Undeniable’

And, Goober, I hope we both get answers.

OK- I believed at that time that the West should have bombed Iraq for their use.
Yes I am aware the west was selling arms to Iraq.
I believe we should stay away from Syria.
I believe both sides (not all groups on the rebel side) would use chemical weapons.

Now we can start from there.

I just watched Global, all they say is "gas was used" "we have to stop more gas attacks" and no mention of who used it.

Very well worded.

Re: Kerry Says Chemical Arms Attack in Syria Is ‘Undeniable’

The civilians story is just the BS story to get them in. What they want is control of petroleum.
Or not lose that control, in this case.
Syria wants to build a pipeline to Europe feeding Iran natural gas, by 2018.

Saudi's definitely don't want that.

Taking out the Syrian government has been planned at the pentagon for 10 years now. They are just waiting for the right time, or excuse.
Next will be Iran.

And it's not for any other reason then petroleum. Don't believe their BS.

it doesn't matter, usa doesn't go involve themselves in these wars out of altruism. it's for their own interests.interests of the rich elite.

usa didn't care when Saddam was gassing his own citizens, that's not the reason they got involved in the gulf war.

I am aware that the US provided maps and up to date intelligence for Iraq and the US were well aware of the use of chemical weapons.
Up to the ying yang in involvement just like in Syria by playing and supplying both sides.

Re: Kerry Says Chemical Arms Attack in Syria Is ‘Undeniable’

Many of the rebels are radical Islamists who have been filmed beheading anyone who opposes them , they're the most likely candidates for committing a sarin attack.

Bush, the Washington Post, the NY Times all said they had incontrovertible proof that Saddam had WMD and stirred war hysteria in order to justify their attack despite the lack of corroborating evidence from the UN. Then we all saw that the Downing Street Memo clearly proved this was all part of a plan to justify Bush's war.

Today we are hearing reports that Hagel and Kerry have seen incontrovertible proof of sarin attacks. But they have failed to produce any such evidence and still have not gotten corroborating evidence from the UN. And where are the satellite photos to prove gas bearing rockets were launched from Assad's military positions??

Are people prepared for yet another war without evidence or are they going to jump into more foreign conflict. And what business is it of the US or UK to intervene in a foreign civil war?

I'm betting that the war profiteers are rubbing their hands with rapturous glee in anticipation of yet another profitable war.

The UN was MANDATED to only prove gas was used but NOT to prove who used it.

Anybody who believes these lies and cheers on the slaughter of innocents deserves to be blown to bits by a suicide bomber at a NASCAR race when it's backlash time.

Both sides have access to chemical weapons. And it would not surprise me if the Rebels (the Wackos, of the extreme type)deliberately set it off.
They are presently getting their asses kicked b Assad.
Now the targets, Assad has had more than enough time to disperse weapons and arms depots.
Move sensitive equipment from hard targets.
So it leaves air defenses, runways and other related structures like bases and training areas.
