Re: British Parliament votes against British military involvement in Syria

You should be dismayed at this outcome. The American brawn usually struggles to win wars without the British brain at its side.

That's funny.

It's Britain which has the best Armed Forces in the world, not France and certainly not the US.

In fact, it's the US, not Britain, which has a reputation for incompetent Armed Forces. It is American Armed Forces who are especially prone to committing friendly fire attacks. A huge amount of British soldiers killed in Iraq were killed by gung-ho, trigger-happy Yanks who couldn't tell the difference between friendly forces and Iraqi forces.

Feel better?

Briddish ...lol

That's funny.

American military forces are so incompetent, so much run by braindead trigger-happy gung-ho morons who love engaging their weapons before their brains, that during the Iraq War British soldiers even had to resort to creating giant banners telling American pilots that they are friendly, British forces so don't open fire after a spate of occurences of braindead American pilots and soldiers attacking and killing British soldiers.

Friendly fire. The Yanks are renowned for it, especially in Britain where our supposed American allies are often as deadly towards British soldiers as our enemy is.

You very rarely get instances of British troops opening fire on their allies, though. Why is that? Better training? More intelligent than their American counterparts?

What a mess. I am actually pleased the British decided to stay home and I hope
the Americans don't do anything at all for now. First this is not thought out as to
what is the benefit. The leadership will not change here and if it does the people
taking over are worse than what's there now. Civil war is not civil and it never will
be. I say let the blood flow until they are tired of it and willing to make peace.
On the other hand bombing Syria could well set us all on the road to a full war with
the Islamic World, which is going to happen anyway at some point.

I believe that!

Mostly because we keep them in the rear with the gear. We don't want them spilling their tea.

Careful, Eagle. Blackloaf may send that "carrier" after you.

I shouldn't be too hard on the English though. The English officer is the best in the world at making tea and performing fellatio, both critical skills in combat.

'Friendly fire’ kills British woman soldier in Afghanistan - Telegraph

We Brits invented ‘friendly fire’ | Patrick West | spiked

Oh that has to hurt BL!

Dare I mention Waterloo? The Brits claiming victory when Wellington's forces were jam packed with non-briddish troops and the Prussians having to bail them out.

I liked this. . .

"Much worse was to come in the Second World War. Indeed, the very first planes to be shot down by Spitfires in that conflict were two Hawker Hurricanes, mistaken for Messerschmitt 109s."

Of course, a Hurricane looks like a 109E about as much as a garbage barge looks like an aircraft carrier.

Oh, wait. . . I think that explains it.

Hell, Wellington himself was Irish.

How about this one BL

6 September 1939 – Just days after the start of the war, in what was dubbed the Battle of Barking Creek, three RAF Spitfires from 74 Squadron shot down two Hurricanes from the RAF's 56 Squadron, killing one of the pilots. One of the Spitfires was then shot down by British anti-aircraft artillery while returning to base

Tally-Ho!

You retard

Yup... more details of that incident above. Then the Briddish AA shot down one of the Spitfires!

Oh they're so competent.

I wonder if the two surviving Spits strafed their own airfields on the way home. Probably.

I would call it "Monty Python Goes to War" except, as we just heard, the English have become too lazy and cowardly to even pretend anymore.

That had me rolling on the floor.

"Mistaken their own airfield to be that of a German airfield, two RAF Spitfires strafed their ground crew in Lancashire after downing two RAF Hurricanes. No injuries were reported on the ground. However one Spitfire was downed by Her Majesty's Royal Boofers earlier in the battle.

"It is a jolly good start" remarked RAF Capt. Roger Wilmur "Now if we can only find the Jerries, we may have us a show!"

RAF Tea Man Jeremy Winkles from Liverpool nodded in agreement as he poured a fresh brew in the ready room."

Re: Kerry Says Chemical Arms Attack in Syria Is ‘Undeniable’

(Is there any country the U.S. has not attacked)..

Canada

The FIRST foreign country the U.S. attacked WAS Canada in 1777.. followed by the invasion of conquest of the War of 1812 and 1813. Americans are quite unaware that they lost both.. so its no surprise EagleSmack is so dense on the issue.

The invasions were repelled by British and Canadian Regulars.. and the Canadian Militia comprising a coalition of French and English, Catholic and Protestant, European and Aboriginal, Merchants and Farmers, Manufacturers and Traders. In a country as politically, ethnically and regionally fractious as Canada.. the only thing we have ever been able to agree on with any degree of unanimity is that WE DON'T WANT TO BE AMERICANS.

Actually every time they strip the paint off the White House to give it a new coat of whitewash.. they uncover the scorch marks left by the retaliatory burning of Washington in 1813.. when we had to spank them for invading our country.

Re: Kerry Says Chemical Arms Attack in Syria Is ‘Undeniable’

The takeaway I'm getting from the threads on Assad using poison gas on his own people is that the Canadian and American left doesn't care.

I say this because all I'm hearing from them is "we hate the warmongering American fascists!"

Well, that and their assertion that since the U.S. used napalm in Vietnam, it's perfectly OK for Assad to use poison gas on his own civilian population.

Must be their deep concern for human rights.

Re: British Parliament votes against British military involvement in Syria

This was done in direct contradiction to Cameron's wishes.. who was holding up the British Prime Ministers 'proud' tradition of LOYAL POODLESHIP to American Imperial adventures.. of the last 30 years.

Australia also pulled out after a lot of sabre rattling and sombre threats by their PM, Kevin Rudd.. presumably for the same reason.. he could garner no political or public support for another fiasco of a military escapade in the Middle East.

So the U.S. will have to go it all alone.. without the political cover a 'Coalition of the Willing' provides at home. And even the Congress is showing some intestinal fortitude in demanding a hearing.. and proof.

Worldwide approval of the use of poison gas on civilians.

Gas away!

This calls for the most severe sanctions the international community can impose! In furtherance of the policy of sending a clear message, and of punishing Bashir Assad for using poison gas on his own people, Britain, Canada, Israel, Russia, Australia, and Brookline have jointly requested that China stop its next shipment of knockoff iPhones to Syria.

To show how deadly serious they are about punishing Assad, the coalition used the words "Pretty please."

In all likelihood by the rebels... the ONLY ones who were in ANY way likely to benefit from the use of gas. I think you'll see a spate of gas and phosphorous attacks on civilians and especially children now as they attempt to bully the West into direct intervention.. by killing their own citizens.
