True, and if the faithful Catholics here had not been specifically asked by "someone" to desist these conversations on our parts, I'd be willing to go further. But, having been instructed to give it a rest, which means nothing to those who are not faithful Catholics I know, but to us who are faithful to the Church is a big deal when "someone" in ecclesiastic authority specifically askes us to do something, I must retract all my earlier comments, ask forgiveness and shut the heck up:-(

Michael, please...enough!

I get the feeling your veiws reflect the catholic church's fear of free thinking. Imagine if people thought for themselves then they wouldn't need the church anymore. They would have discovered the secrect to love and happiness was simply how they percieve the world and they way they choose to interact with it.

Note: Wesymanguy, notice I didn't say people would not need God, just the church. Faith and religion are something I have learned to keep seperate.

Somebody told you to stop discussing religion? Who is this "someone"?

It was preaching and he was going off topic. If you read thread it is evident who made the request, there were two.

Sanctus? Well, respectfully, why would anyone need to listen to him? I really am not trying tobe rude, I just think I missed something somewhere?

Yes, I totally understand that. I'm fairly new to the forum so I am a bit dense, because I do not understand why levesque as a Catholic would give a hoot what Sanctus(I assume another Catholic) askes him to do or not to do? That is what I don't understand...duhhh me:-(

Catholics and other Christians need to become more aware of the lures and traps of the
NewAge in order to avoid them. We must reject the lies and false promises of Satan's
New Age, and give ourselves completely to the Truth that is Jesus Christ. Satan wishes to
rule the world, but God will ultimately triumph. He alone is our hope and our
salvation.
yeah and thinking your better than everyone becuase your catholic is a real big positve thing there.
That will definatly bring peace to those how are inferior to you.
Are you sure your not a Jahovas wittness.
All the other faiths aren't always in your face with they're beliefs.
Breath some air once in a while. Your brain needs it. You know nothing of Satan fella.....
Preaching lies again....oh wait if you believe its the truth you must be right . How arragant of my to think your wrong. Are you looking for a pat on the back for your faith fella.....Christ your F****'n annoying....

Just to explain, and I won't go any further than this explanation. If one is a faithful and devout RC, a request from a priest is usually respected. Let's just say that last night those who are RC on the forum were emailed by a priest asking us to cease religious discussions with non-catholics. Most of us agreed, out of respect for that position of authority in the church. That's all we need to say about it.

By the way, Sanctus is a priest.

Don't get yourself worked up gentle one, he's living in a trap and he doesn't realize it. When you live inside a bubble, everything outside appears evil, including the genuinely good. You know who you are, you know you're good and you have good intentions, and what you worship and practice IS good, because it helps you become a better and stronger person.
Darn .. I'll repeat my question to you Amber . Are you sure your 21?

Even nowadays, the influence of catholic priests over the catholic faithful just amazes me. It's like the members think these guys speak for god or something. I don't think I'd make a very good catholic!

Aw jeez... There's no law of attraction, except in the most trivial sense. Buyers don't attract other buyers, they attract sellers, for instance, and we generally hang around with people who share our views. But to think that your attitude can affect the universe is nonsense, there's no evidence to support such a claim. Most places in the universe would be instantly fatal to human life. Even where I live right now would be quickly fatal to me if I stepped outside without the protection provided by our technology, it's -18°. The universe doesn't care about you, there's no reason to think it's sentient or interested. That's unsupportable mystic nonsense.

It's not about changing the universe, it's about changing how you perceive the universe.

West has identifed himself as aChristian, so I am only sharing with him how NA is contrary to the faith.

You're gonna dampen that boy's enthusiasm just because you can, aren't you? You can't let him grow and evolve at his own pace, let him decide what is best for himself, without ridiculous dire warnings of retribution??

er... what was that you were saying about Satan? You scare me!

Maybe if we stay possitive eh? I havent read the book yet but I plan too. Its a fab concept and it is atually very old. I love theories that empower and not degrade or make you cling to someone else or something else. When you find your inner strenth you see the true face of "God".

What book. Did I miss something? Probably. :|

It's not about changing the universe, it's about changing how you perceive the universe.
That's not how I read it. The OP said:

Our lives, our brains, we create our reality.
By us focusing on our own negative thoughts, the universe makes that our reality.
When we think of positive thoughts, the universe creates that reality.

Seems to be claiming a pretty direct connection between the state of our thoughts and the state of the universe.
