No, the Reform Party and the Block Quebecois split the Conservative party into two unelectable pieces and neither of them had room for that big chunk of middle progressives that used to make and break Conservative governments. Harper attracted some of them back ... just barely and just for a time. Scheer didn't even try to reach them. There is nowhere for the Conservatives to go but down unless the old Reform Party cement heads are made to understand that they are the authors of their own demise.
Personally when I think of the blues, it's the old school Conservatives I think of - and wish would come back into power.
The new ones are wackadoodle.

In other news - the remarkable Doctor Jordan Peterson says he worked for two years for a United Nations Climate Agency and as a result of that he says there are NOW MORE TREES in the northern hemisphere than there were 100 years ago!!!!!!!!!!
His explanation is simple- 100 years ago we burned trees for heat and cooking but now we revere trees and municipal govts do what they can to LIMIT tree cutting!!

Is that why the Prairie provinces are hell bent to balance the budgets? Sask. did this last spring, Man. on course for next spring, and Alta. within 3 years. How is the East making out? What are their commitments toward balanced budgets outside of using transfer payments?
I am in Ont, am basically conservative in my views, consider a balanced budget a good thing. Ontario right now has the largest debt load of any provincial/state jurisdiction in the world. We inherited one hell of a mess from Ms Wynne.
Doug Ford is trying for a balanced budget in 5 years. I doubt that he will keep that promise, but he is trying.
That said, I am no fan of Doug Ford. I think he is a lousy leader and they could have chose much better....but he is what we are stuck with right now, he is trying in his own way.

I have some great news for you: Ontario does not have the largest debt load of any provincial/state jurisdiction in the world. It dioesn't even have the largest provincial debt to GDP ratio in Canada. Not even close.
