'The Pentagon has developed a comprehensive strategy for taking over the internet and controlling the free flow of information. The plan appears in a recently declassified document, “The Information Operations Roadmap”, which was provided under the FOIA (Freedom of Information Act) and revealed in an article by the BBC. The Defense Dept. places a high-value on controlling information.

The War Dept. is planning to insert itself into every area of the internet from blogs to chat rooms, from leftist web sites to editorial commentary. The objective is to challenge any tidbit of information that appears on the web that may counter the official narrative; the fairytale of benign American intervention to promote democracy and human rights across the planet.

There are a few on here that I suspect are already engaged in such activity.

Well now... I just read this. The Americans have a name for people like that (what I don't remember). Their job is basically to troll the internet and spread US propaganda and steer conversations in certain directions. I would say this isn't so much a plan as a reality.

Fortunately the few I've run into so far are complete morons. One I even called out as such and he was too dumb to even deny it!

Yeah, so no worries. They seem to be poorly educated and not very intelligent. If we had one on this sight, say for example, he would probably look like a very patriotic bozo and be quite obvious.

you're seriously saying that there are people employed by the US government who spend all day on forums being patriotic and telling people what to think and you're the one who found them out?

can you say delusions of grandeur?

I didn't find them out. I read about them. I confirmed on another US forum that indeed they existed then found one.

If that makes me grand then so be it but I'll have to take your word on it. ;-)
