Retired Supreme Stevens says Kavanaugh should not be confirmed due to his testimony.
Stevens, 98, said he started out believing that Kavanaugh deserved to be confirmed, "but his performance during the hearings caused me to change my mind."

I agree with him. I said at the time Manafort - regardless of the accusations - demonstrated that he is a right wing nutjob. Claiming that Dr Ford was a political hit job to get revenge for the Clintons?
Anyone who witnessed that and still thinks this guy is SC material is hopelessly biased - just like Kavanaugh.

It is sure going to be interesting.

Manchin (D) voted YES. He could possibly win in November with a YES for confirmation tomorrow. If he votes NO he will most likely lose WV.

Heitkamp (D) from ND will vote NO but she's most likely finished in November and she knows it.

But we shall see.

So far so good for Kavanaugh.

I thought it was a huge mistake for Kavanaugh to put out that OpEd on the eve of the vote.

He
failed ot foresee how malignant, opportunistic and, fanatical his Feminist opposition is. It was bound to be used as an acknowlegement of his lack of 'judicial temperament'. There would be no sympathy or understanding of his anger at what his family, especially his children, have been subjected to from forces that are so viciously anti-family. They were going to attack, attack, attack, no matter what.

It always ends up sounding like a plea. I remember what Henry Ford II once said "Never complain, Never explain, Never apologize". Good advice for business or politics. Kavanaugh's attitude should have been one of defiance in these circumstances rather than atonement. His outrage was completely understandable and he had nothing for which to apologize.

However, all's well that ends well.

coldstream,

Your hatred of feminists and gay people has been duly noted on many occasions on this forum. I'm not saying you aren't intelligent...more so your deep-seeded biases lead you to connect random dots and reach conclusions that are simply without merit.

I have nothing against women. I have no concern as to what anyone's private fantasies contain. I'm against abortion and sodomy (specifallly its societal normalization, institutionalization, sacralization).

On the first i oppose its because its bad for the woman (look at the stats on the devastating life long health implications of the abortion of a first pregnancy) and definitely bad for the baby. Calling it 'medical procedure', in which one party is murdered and the other has her health permanently compromised, is the ultimate corruption of the term.

I oppose the second because it spawns a culture racked with depression, substance abuse, suicide, disease, isolation, violence and a vastly shortened life expectancy.

My concern is for both the health and the salvation of all.

Personally I'm "sitting on the fence", I've heard a lot of discussion but have no personal direct knowledge. I do believe if the allegations made by that woman can't be substantiated, he pretty much has to be given a "green light". "Innocent until proven guilty" is the common standard!

He lied under oath. I don't care if he assaulted her, he lied and that should automatically make him unfit to judge anybody in any court. WTF is the matter with Republicans and their supporters. You all have the morals of rats.
Christians my ass!

There is no proof or corroboration of any lies said by Kavanaugh. Yer hatred of Trump is getting in yer way to coherent thought and reason. Kavanaugh has been investigated seven times by the FBI, they probably even know the shade of brown his shit is and the shade of yellow his piss Is. The FBI has found nothing untoward with Kavanaugh.

It doesn't even matter if he lied, at this point. His argressive partisanship should render him ineligible for a powerful, long term position that requires sober judiciousness and fairness. He's not remotely close to having those attributes.
