there is really no way to block an appointment that the republicans want.

as ever the white minority is fully in charge.

I must say, having read summaries of the hearings, I'm pretty much OK with Kavanaugh on the Supreme Court. He's a competent if not stellar judge and seems to have a sound Constitutional philosophy.

Of course, nobody has asked the questions I'm interested in hearing him answer. But the hearings aren't intended to be a serious test of judicial competence and philosophy.

Can't have a dog-and-pony show without dogs and ponies, I suppose.

I'm hopeful Kavanaugh will be a reliable social conservative of the USSC. It's difficult to assess someone with such a legally cloistered background. I really think Trump was using his head rather than his gut when he picked Kavanaugh.

His gut told him to pick Hardiman who comes from a rough, combative and practical background. He ended up on both shortlists for Justice. I think Trump would prefer a Marine Corps Drill Sgt. to an Army Staff College Instructor and I frankly trust his gut more than i do his head.

If Kavanaugh is as unreliable as David Souter or Anthony Kennedy we'll have another 'swing' vote in support of the Official State Church of the United States in moral relativism, radical individualism, atheistic humanism as comprising the the infalllible national religion with all of its attendant unenumerated 'rights'.

Since Robert Bork answered questions fully and honestly in his confirmation hearings in 1988 and was rejected by the Dem majority for failing to conform to the 'mainstream' these hearings have become a joke.. an exercize in posturing for a Presidential run by committee members.. and in providing sufficiently evasive and ambiguous answers by the nominee to avoid being politically classified.

Kavanaugh is the consensus GOP pick.

He will give them the anti abortion rulings they want.

Bruce Ohr you just glad to see me?

Wife of demoted Justice Department official worked for ‘dossier’ firm

The wife of a Justice Department official who was demoted for failing to disclose his meeting with the Trump “dossier” author worked for the opposition research firm behind the document, according to a published report Monday.

Bruce Ohr, who lost his senior-level post as associate deputy attorney general, is the husband of Nellie Ohr — an employee during the 2016 election for Fusion GPS, which compiled the anti-Trump document, officials told Fox News Channel.

You made that asinine comment , why not explain yourself ?
It's pretty clear that Trump likes to chase show girls, poo orn girls, whatever girls, etc. How many pregnancies has he left behind him in the process over his really shady lifetime? Are there a bunch of little (or now grown up) Trump offspring running around getting ready to make claims on his fortune? Did he buy their silence? (Who the hell would settle for peanuts when there are millions do divvy up?) or did Trump's army of minions (like Cohen, for example) make sure that the "problems" were "taken care of"?

I expect that the latter happened or Trump paternity suits would be choking up the whole American justice system.

That I even had to explain something do obvious to you pigs tells me that you're damed close to being senile. No wonder you believe in the nutbar.

I deeply appreciate the concern over abortion rights in this case. Personally I feel that he represents a much bigger danger however. He potentially will enable trump to get a death grip on our democracy. In that case all human rights are seriously endangered in the US and by association, the planet. - Michael Sykes

You might live long enough to be conscripted into world war three after all.
