Re: Statistics Canada Hiring 35,000 to offset Harper's unreasonable cuts to census

Just for fun I was going to send a resume. But alas like every facet of Canadian government websites...... there was an error processing my request

Census takers are going to get a kick in the teeth at my door.

Oh classic, the Government is using a employment agency. Well I guess that saves them paying health care and other requirements that would be necessary if they were actually "Government Employees."

Let us know how your census fight goes.

Please.

Harper's cuts were reasonable and overdue.

Except that they weren't and funds are being reinstated.

Wowee, 35,000 mostly temporary jobs. Way to spend money on Canada and Canadians there Justin.

May His shiny benevolence and muppet-like demeanor distract us from reality so we may bask in His sunny ways. Amen.

Harper's cuts were reasonable and overdue.

Nonsense.

The cuts made by the previous government to Statistics Canada were designed to ensure that pesky things like objective facts and statistics cannot be relied upon to scuttle the agenda of the Conservative Party. The cuts were wholly unreasonable, and were just a continuation of their long-term campaign against the role of science and research in public policy development.

Did you get that one out of the liberal party hacks training manual?
It is a good thing the budget will balance itself because trudOwe will never make it happen.

Thanks for caring about the taxpayers Stevie........

The price tag for the 2015 federal election has come in at $443 million, up 53 per cent from the $290 million the 2011 election cost taxpayers, according to the Elections Canada preliminary estimate.

Part of the reason for the increased cost was the unusually long campaign period of 78 days, almost double the length of the previous election. There were also 30 new ridings in play.

On the news tonight I heard them report that they "found" money enough for a 1.9 billion surplus. I guess the conservatives tightened their belts enough (cut the money out of programs that are needed). It happened at a very fortuitous time. A funny story. My NDP candidate came to the door. I asked him how his party was going to pay for $15/day childcare. He said paying $15/hr for 6 kids. Didn't say where they would be house. To me it is amazing how this 1.9 billion is going to be spent so many times over. Kind of like a kid dreaming about over spending his allowance.

Sorry about responding to an old post, but it is clear that the NDP does not know basic math.

An 8 hour day would require $15 per hour for 8 kids and even this would not suffice due to the top heavy bureaucracy of such a plan.

a 10hr day would be $15/hr for 10kids
a 12hr day would be $15/hr for 12kids.

it is a good thing that there isn't 24hrs in a day.

I wasn't commenting to you, you posted seconds before I did.

Anyhoo, you forgot one thing CUPE. Take CUPE babysitters out of the NDP thought process and maybe it could have been pulled off using Mexican babysitters.
