Ive left links hes no interested. He reads Pgan Culture AND he reads Dining alone.....

No, I actually read neither of the two threads you mentioned. And I have read many works on the topics involved in paganism and new age spirituality. I have attended workshops and seminars and I have aquainted myself, once upon a time, with pagans in the community. Even attended a few of their ceremonies as an observer.

Theres another thing about you maybe you need to look into.....if piss EVERYBODY off then whos left to Preach too? your a piece of work. Pan is in you.....coyote's stronger!

Pissing people off in a new community is normal. People are the same regardless of religious affiliation. That is, they often do not like change, or more specifically the new guy coming in and doing things contrary to what they are used to.They adjust, in time.

Read this again THE PHRASE IS NOT MINE.

And again. I like words. I am fond of reading dictionaries as well.
I like phrases for the sound they make, regardless of what they may mean.

Sanctus, I can understand that. I, too, like words a lot. I can speak four languages, some better, some worse. I enjoy reading, I like a beautiful phrase, too. I find words fascinating. But that is not the point right now.
The point is that when you use, or quote a phrase that you consider beautiful, despite the fact that its MEANING is offensive and insulting to many people, it is a breach of good manners, not to mention that it is a breach of your christian morality.
Besides, the gift of language was not given to human beings to prounounce beautiful sound combinations, regardless os what they may mean. Even animals do not produce sounds that have no meaning. Humans use language and speech to exchange ideas. Words are symbols. Each symbol has a meaning. a sentence is a collection of these symbols that produce a meaning. So when you say that you like phrases for the sound they make, and drat the meaning, it means that you are being a parrot, doesn't it?

It is sometimes good to offend, in order to get people to think. That is certainly the policy of group marketing, to find a phrase or term that will grab attention. Further, as I stated, anything that leads away from Christ is death to salvation, so the term seems appropriate to me.

hmmm is that why youve posted in Dinning Alone? Andd in Pagan Culture your name pops up as reading on the bottom.......Andems little toys are helpful. But thats cool dont sweat it. As for your pagan education Im highly sceptical of classes taught by cathokics to catholics. Kinda like the blind leading the blind. And if you HAVE been to ritual then you have not understood what you wwere observing at all. Please give me the name of the Priestess so I may talk to her about leaving bad impressions on visitors.

Funny, I have attended seminars at secular Universities. Mind you, I do admit a certain bias as the courses I attend do usually fall under some Christian category on the topic.

I don't know what name she uses. It was a few years back. Her parents were actually members of my parish at the time and they were very concerned that their daughter had left the church for paganism. Nice young lady, first name of Danielle. I actually kicked her out of my Church once as her mother indicated to me that she wanted one of the consecrated Hosts for some reason or another.

I was invited to a ceremony that she said was called a naming ceremony?(I may have the wrong term) shortly after her son was born. another time she allowed me to witness something they called the Circle(again I may have the name wrong)

Naturally neither ceremony gave me a good impression. In fact, the Circle ceremony made me quite uneasy to be honest with you. I left about 3/4 of the way through it.

You must realize that part of the reason for my self-education is that, from our perspective, certain stains of this stuff is filtering into areas of the Church. Matthew Fox, for example, is a leading heretic who has influenced many Catholics into his neo-pagan, new age spirituality. For this reason we study the subject so as to know what we are up against.

You are a very narrowminded person and that makes me sad. Im sorry I know you think Im attacking you but I really feel sorry for you. I'll keep you in my candle magic and ask Pan to open your eyes. But only you can allow Love into your heart and I dont see that happening. Whats really sad is your in a possition that speads this bigotry onto young hearts. You call Mental illness Paganism and that scares me to death. You are openly hateful toward a WHOLE people and your teaching children that hatred. Its people like you that spit on me because I have a bumper sticker that says Pagan Pride. Intolerance got millions killed in natzi germany. Hatred got 100's of thousands burned at the stake and tortured. Ive met many Priests I would call friend and many catholics I call Sister (of flesh and spirit) I dont hate people I hate institutions and single minded bigotry. Im not going to change your mind but I will call you to task everytime from now on. I cant in all good conscious let you batter my people even in borderline flaming articles like this. You play passive agressive very well, I should know. Goddess Bless you Priest I ask her to open not just your eyes but also your heart.

Naturally because I am Catholic. Really, this is getting very tiresome for me, with all due respect. I cannot understand how you people would assume I would be feeling otherwise. I sense you won't be content until I write it is perfectly ok not to have Christ as the centre of your faith life. ANYTHING that is not Christ-centred and focused is obviously not going to appeal to me.

ANYTHING that is not Christ-centred and focused is obviously not going to appeal to me. you claim it is being narrow-minded. I state that it is not narrow-minded to believe in what you believe. Whether anyone here likes it or not, the Church is very specific about paganism, neo-paganism and new age spirituality. what surprises me is your suprise that these things would not appeal to me. I don't know, I give up with these discussions. I get asked a question, i reply with as much honesty as possible, and I get angry words in return. If you don't want me to answer honestly, don't ask questions. It's mind-boggling to me how anyone would expect A Catholic to think otherwise.

i can tell it's getting tiresome for you. it's tiresome for us too. the thing is while u can't see it's ok for two people to have two belief systems and still not think of each other as evil demons, we can't see that it's ok for you to think like that. after all it's religious intolerance, which is unacceptable in most polite society. On religious matters you are incapable of agreeing to disagree. there are people in here with beliefs which are quiet, peaceful matters, teaching love and acceptance, and you label them as evil wrongdoers, and a danger to society.

Well, mostly because Ive met tons of catholics that arent as closed minded and Bigotted as you are. Ive recently talked to an ordained Priest that was outraged your speading this nonsense at all. Id give you his number but he doesnt think your a priest. You my dear Priest exude non tolerance and down right bigotry toward anyone NOT catholic and your followers do the same. But you do it with a candy coating and your intellegent so the guys have someone to play with. I on the other hand am not so taken in by your sugar or fishing stories. Again I wish you nothing but clarity and I ask my Goddess and my God to show you true light.

Its called acceptance and tolerance Love and Im quickly learning why the Priest here was sent to my life. For me to learn not ALL Christians or Catholics believe this way, look at Karrie, we bumped heads at first but like will out like and she has become a beacon in my path. She's tolerant and caring but fast held in her beliefs. I am learning that not all christians are biggotted and hateful or passive agressive. I thank my Goddess for such lessons. And look how many Pagans and Athiests have been outted how wonderful is that?

You post an insulting and inflamatory thread and it's tiresome for you. Suck it up, princess. How about a heartfelt apology and a promise not to do it again and we might let you off the hook.

I can produce a timeline of posts and threads which will show that this "disagreement" was initiated by christian fundie zealots. You and your kind started this, we have every intention and wish of ending it. We don't ask for unconditional surrender. You may keep your opinions but if they are insulting and inflamatory keep them to yourself or else be prepared to be hounded and argued against.

Do not loose faith Sanctus, they are testing you, helping you build on the rock, you'll be the better for it
if you remain kind throughout. I know you are a good man. But you know the old saying, "the road to hell is paved with good intentions and the ditches are full of the bones of good men".
