You know darn well his news coverage would have been local, and that's it, had he not been married to a politician. You're not that blind to reality. And no, Bosma was not a missing depression sufferer, he was a kidnap victim, they're not the same. At all.
Again, the facts of what happened to Bosma were not known when his case was first publicized, yet he received more national media attention than this case.
What are you even arguing about though? This point was a pretty simple one. Somebody said that because it was reported in the media, obviously he is a public figure. That clearly isn't true, since the media reports these things all the time.
What other people want to do with the information after the fact is their choice. If they want to use a tragic event like this to attack everything from the family personally, to gay marriage and the right for gay men to adopt, hopefully karma will balance that out eventually.
