''Today a report was released that up to 20,000 Honor Killings ocur annually - The vast majority of them in Muslim Countires - next Look at Pakistan where Shiites are targeted for mas killing.

Muslim kill Muslims to a great number - Why is that - Why do they do that?

More women are killed in Honor killings each and every year than al the deaths since the Declararation of the Stae of Isreal -

You Ignore Iran - Wonder why -
You ignore Saudi - Wonder Why
You ignore Pakistan - Wonder why

Guess the Stats are being cherry picked''

Interesting how when people bring up the subject of female infanticide and genocide in India, that is conveniently ignored by the right wingers here. After all, Hindus are killing Hindus and Sikhs in far greater numbers and you all like to disregard that. Why?

In fact, a long while ago I presented a couple of links which showed that more Christian missionaries were attacked and killed by Hindus than by Muslims and you ignored that truth. Perhaps you'd like to address it for once just to try to be consistent.

Yep. Other groups (including Christians such as Bush and the Republicans) engage in killing far more people than do Muslims. Unfortunately, because of the forum's right wing bias and double standards, Muslims will always be the targeted group here.

I still believe intolerant bigots of all stripes are a minority, even here on this forum.

you may well be correct (at least I sincerely hope so) - it's just too bad that so many threads are repeatedly created by the forum bigots in order to express their hatred for Muslims while conveniently overlooking the faults of other religious fanatics

Yep. Same could be said about Israel, or the Jewish religion, or Christianity, and so on
& so forth....as bigotry comes in many shades and forms, from many directions, all the
time it seems.

Some of us and I am not a right winger are more than well aware of what is happening in India and look at how they treat their Elderly parents from a poor family -

This has been discussed within other thread topics but no thread was posted that was directly related to the subject.

I take it that would include Left Wing, Wing Nuts , almost want to stutter after that.

No question about that. Hopefully, forum participants will look into their hearts before attacking other religions while conveniently ignoring the sins of their own. I get the sense that henceforth people here will look at all sides of the issue before casting nastiness anywhere else. At least, let's hope this is the new direction people here will take from now on.

Israel is among the MOST JUST nations in the Holy Land.........better there than Lebanon, Egypt, Syria.........

Relatively, perhaps. But still, would you condone a formal alliance between Canada a a country that bans interfaith marriage and requires converts to inform the government of their conversion, and prohibits freedom of religious organization for certain religious communities, etc.?

Establishing friendly relations with Israel? Fine. But certainly not a formal alliance with such a country. And friendship only in the sense that Canada would refuse to create barriers between Israelis and Canadians at the grass roots when it comes to travel and tourism, foreign students exchanges, trade, etc. But at the diplomatic level, it could be a different matter, even with Canada being critical of Israel at the UN when voting on UN resolutions and abiding by them.

I'd say Canada should adopt a similar position with Iran. Be friends in the sense that Canada would refuse to legislate barriers between Canadians and Iranians at the grassroots level such as travel, tourism, international education, trade and commerce, etc. But again, Canada should be just as harsh against the Iranian regime.

To say that Canada should become formally allied with a regime that clearly violates human rights just because another regime is even worse is ludicrous. All you have to do is read up on Israel's religious laws for its own citizens to see just how discriminatory and restrictive it can be. It's almost as bad as China's, which likewise is better than Iran's.

How so? Prejudice comes from ignorance and hatred. Not from anything else so far as I have read over the years.
