karrie, I am surprised that you fell for that simplistic and dumb, Marxist crap, based on class envy and lies.

You must have, otherwise you would not have posted it.

I post plenty of things with the intent of discussing them. Don't assume my position on anything until I give it to you.

Marxist? A real Marxist would say that the American dream has never been a reality just an illusion.

Yes! Marxism is an idea that is based on ENVY. Envy anyone who is smarter than you. Stronger than you. Richer than you. Works harder than you. ENVY all who refuse to or at least reluctant to give up what they earned to support free-loading drones.

Marxism IS an illusion, promulgated by worthless free-loaders, who are intent on profiting on the hard work of others.

The American Dream is the reality of those penniless immigrants who made it on their own by work that is alien to the very nature of Marxists.

BTW, 0bama is a self-admitted and avowed MARXIST, as all community agitators, past and present have been and always will be.

YukonJack, I'm no expert on Obama but from that I have seen, he's the furthest thing from a Marxist. Usually, in the US, when someone is called a Marxist or socialist, they're our equivalent to a conservative.

Sorry alley, your link opened with him insulting to argue. Not really convincing. He negated any intelligent points he might have made the instant he opened with insults.

Socialist crap.

No way. A hybrid system is the way to go.

But since a company's profit is the only true reflection of their actions, a fair profit that allows the corporation to remain successful without harming the general public is the way to go.

It's pretty much an inevitability that this will happen as wealth distribution becomes more polarized.

Sorry.

When he opens with "Why? Because your the type of person that could never make 30 thousand dollars?" is probably an accurate statement. The majority of people who believe in "redistribution of wealth" aren't big income earners.

karrie, when I lived in the States, I used to listen to Micheal Savage. Believe it or not he used to be on MSNBC Canada in the early 2000's. I will be the first one to admit that he is unduly abrasive at times, but in this particular video, he only asked questions. If anyone was insulting it was the caller with the absurd notion - insulting any normal person's intelligence - that nobody should be allowed to be worth more than 30 million.

Do you agree with his caller?

Just curious.

BTW, in my fairly long life, I observed that the more incompetent a person is, the more full of hate and envy he is.

I haven't watched the clip yet but Michael Savage... oh boy. He hates EVERYONE! He hates the GOP just as much as the Democrat Party. I listen to him but he depresses me at times.

"We're finished... FINISHED! Western Society is done... forget it... there's no use... WE'VE BEEN SOLD OUT BY THE Blahdidy BLAHBLAHS!"

He's a good yeller.

No.

Do I think that saying 'why, because you're the kind of person who can't make more than 30 000', is an innocent question and not a poorly veiled insult?

hell no... I'm not a moron.

If the accusation/insult was justified, the oh so clever and innocent caller sure did not have the facts or the courage to dispute it.

And Savage was probably right.

Whatever your view is, it is an undeniable fact that an obscenely disproportionate distribution of wealth is harmful to society. You can try and find a way to use capitalism or socialism to curb or resolve that problem, but either way, this sort of instability is bad for everyone.

Period.
