No one ever said we should not have medical coverage, it would have been much simpler and cheaper just to add those uninsured to the Medicare" rolls without having to create a whole new buraracey. Why the goverment ignores this is beyond me, it works and with a few exceptions very smoothly.

Okay, but wasn't there other parts to the health care bill dealing with health insurance companies turning down those people with a previous sickness or injury?
Those people would also be included in Medicare, along with those needing insurance. Medicare would be a primary insurance/program for everyone with insurance options as a secondary (not expensive) for those who want to pay more than basic insurance. (basic medicare will cover most health needs with patient paying for what is not covered. Secondary will pay everything else.) As with Medicare, secondary health insurance will cover pre-existing conditions or injury.

Back in the eighties there was a pro wrestler, Million Dollar Man, Ted Dibiasi who said that everyone has a price for the Million Dollar Man. Then he paid off anyone to get his will, using his own money.

It is a very modest bill. The House bill was more far reaching, it had public option. Senate bill really presents very modest reform of the system. Somebody compared it to rolling a rock up the hill.
With the bill that was just passed, USA rolled the rock to the bottom of the hill and maybe rolled it slightly uphill, but nothing more. As compared to that, Canada has rolled the rock all the way to the top of the hill.
There is a provision which kicks in within 60 days. Insurance companies cannot turn down children with preexisting conditions. In four years, they cannot turn down adults with preexisting conditions.
The bill has many provisions, some kick in right away, others don’t kick in until 2018.
It will not save money. The goverment just has to stop the way medicare pays for un-necessary items ordered by doctors not so much for need, but for convince. Simple example are how many old people have handicapped parking permits who can actually walk, or giving electric scooters out just because there old. (over 65) At the present it is to easy to get expensive medical items that are not really needed.It was estimated that at a cost of $400 million the program could be modified to accept the additional patients.

Where they have trouble is carrying a couple big bags of groceries back to the car if the car is at the other side of the parking lot. They can use a grocery cart but then they have to take the cart back and then walk across the parking lot again. They find it easier to park in the handicapped spot right next to the store. Maybe we need more handicapped parking spots.

'The cost of defying Obamacare by withholding compliance on your income tax return will not be for the faint hearted – families will be forced to cough up $2,250 a month while being closely scrutinized by an army of new IRS agents with fresh “combat training,” armed to the teeth with 12 gauge pump action shotguns.
“The Internal Revenue Service will function as the government’s chief enforcer for health care reform, should President Obama sign the bill into law as expected, monitoring both businesses and individuals to certify whether they have the insurance coverage the government requires,” writes Matt Cover of CNS News.
The penalties associated with defying mandatory health care are staggering. From 2014 onwards, for every month that individuals or businesses with over 50 employees fail to carry a minimum level of health insurance, they will be hit with fines of up to $750 a month for individuals and $750 per uncovered employee for businesses. For a family of four, this could amount to a whopping $27,000 a year ($2250 a month for each household).'

The partnering Reconciliation Act, currently in the Senate, also contains a raft of pork barrel and tax hikes, there to fund the trillion dollar cost of nationalizing medicine.
As reported by Bloomberg News today, analysis by the nonpartisan congressional Joint Committee on Taxation reveals that the bill will generate $409.2 billion in additional taxes by 2019. In addition, the Congressional Budget Office states that the bill also levies almost $69 billion more in penalties for those who fail to meet mandates to buy insurance.'
